The perceived wisdom on here has been that the Labour leadership was bleeding votes to its left so was wrong to do anything that might placate potential Reform voters. Based on the election results overnight it would appear the leadership was right to fear Reform rather than the far left.

Don’t think this nearly as bad a result for Labour as is being claimed. Muslim vote is lost and was anyway as last general election wins & close seconds for Muslim independents proved with the Greens being current vehicle for Muslim bloc voting. White working class vote still in play for Labour.

Starmer went to Leeds Uni and rose through the legal profession to be DPP. Polanski claimed he could use hypnosis to enlarge women’s breasts, was a Lib Dem but was rejected as a parliamentary candidate so like Liz Truss moved party. Hardly the same.
