In what world is Russia a bloc lol. I mean granted it is in of itself in that it’s an Empire with the largest country landmass in the world but its power and influence has steadily declined for decades. The only thing that really gives it global influence now is its nuclear arsenal and UN veto.

Literally no one thinks they can take over Europe. Most however do think that it will attack Europe (if you don’t call what they are already currrntly doing ‘attacking’) so yes more money is needed for defence. Whether that means reduced spending elsewhere or higher taxes is a political decision.

To be fair some people do need a car eg if you’re working a trade, have a small business & need to transport goods fairly often, certain disabilities, have a family depending on where you live, etc., but we shouldn’t be making it easy to own a car & resources should be focused on non-car options
