This story is one of Lovett’s best. It’s rare that anything on Wikipedia gets a true conclusion, much less a relatively happy one where the parties agree they both made honest mistakes. Sometimes “assume good faith” works.

Looking at where recent ex-MLS coaches are, found out someone created a Wikipedia account solely to edit the page for John Herdman. April 9, 2025 was when news broke that Bayern was considering legal action after Alphonso Davies' knee injury. That day's edits bigged up his legacy - blue/right=new.
Wiki profile history for username AnnWinterburneWikipedia edits to John Herdman's page adding that he's "widely recognized for his contributions to Canadian soccer. He is the only coach to have led both a women's and men's national team from the same country to a FIFA World Cup.Wikipedia edits on John Herdman's wikipedia, showing removal of mention that Canada Soccer's "independent committee informed the parties that Mr. Herdman was found to have committed misconduct under the Canada Soccer Disciplinary Code."Wikipedia edits on John Herdman's page showing added editorialization of his time with the Canada women's national team.

"Canada women were in disarray. Some veteran players were contemplating early retirements until Herdman arrived."

I've written two things about Jeffrey Epstein, Wikipedia and SEO. I'm seeing a lot of stories saying he used SEO to bury his negative results. I think a more accurate depiction is that he *tried* to do that.
