Standard browser gamepads also work with the equivalent buttons, sticks, D-pad, and triggers for up to 4 people in versus mode.

Keyboard controls are: I/J/K/L — analog movement Arrow keys — D-pad/menu navigation V — right trigger / thrust F — left trigger / brake X — Dreamcast A / confirm / fire C — Dreamcast B / back / mine S — Dreamcast X D — Dreamcast Y Enter — Start

It isn’t emulating a whole Dreamcast—the original game code runs directly, with a thin adapter underneath it.

The shims are translators. The game still “speaks Dreamcast,” but the shim translates its graphics, sound, controls, and file-saving commands into something a modern computer or web browser understands.

you can now play dRxLaX in you browser: drxlax.com It is made by inserting shims that take the api calls I use on the Dreamcast hardware.

This is such a good match for the tile based rendering in the Dreamcast, to the point where “a deck of cards…” is often the analogy one uses to explain hidden surface removal.

I’m looking for alternatives to @ubiquiti.bsky.social that can match them technically but have a stronger ethical track record regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine. If you’ve switched away from @ubiquiti.bsky.social, what did you move to and how has it worked out?

I agree it sort of works well, in part I guess that the royals know that sufficiently serious transgressions will be the end of their privileges.

Weird thing is that the Scandinavian countries actually have monarchs… We have an agreement with them to no meddle in politics, it is a peculiar arrangement.

What are you thinking here, that they were too meek at first and have toughened up, or something else?

I'm wondering if the PowerVR CLX2 in the Dreamcast can do triangle fans? I know it slows down on degenerated triangle strips, but what if all the even numbered vertices in this strip had the same coordinates? Would every other triangle being a little bit degenerated cause problems?

If I can get this up and running on my windows install, then I could do something really cool for windows users of dc-tool-ip (folder mounting).

I had to go look up the term ‘character actor’. It was less positive than I had understood until now, but also a bit more ambiguous.

I’m almost certain Trump didn’t write this, it lacks his usual ‘flair’ of unhinged gramppa shouting at clouds in the most narcissistic way possible.
