If I recall, when Miles joined the 616, Bendis was under the assumption Miles would be the “main” Spider-Man. And then there rumors that he MAY change his name (I remember the name ‘Spy-D’ floating around). It’s not going to happen, but there is some (decade old) precedent for why people think it.

Miles vs Peter is just sort of bound to occur. And it’s either Peter realizes he’s wrong or Miles has to “become the teacher” and show Peter he’s wrong. At least it’s not Bendis writing it, so there’s only a 50% chance it will become Peter whining how much cooler and better Miles is at being Spidey.
