Haven't had a chance to play the new Dark Arisen yet, so maybe they did, but have they considered adding cosmetic slots to Dragon's Dogma? I kinda like they way certain pieces look together, but there's that struggle between style and stats. Got pick from awesome wizard hat or razor-thin circlet...

⑨. Moron And her day once again falls on a Wednesday, (which also has 9 letters, such a strong day). Happy Cirno Day to all the #touhou crowd out there!

Cirno, from Touhou, resting happily on a blue-striped number 9 billiards ball.

Pictures are working again! Post something stupid from your phone.

A crop of two panels from an Awkward Zombie "Phoenix Wright" strip. The majority of the comic -- where Apollo questions their location and Phoenix insists they are in America whilst being surrounded by what is clearly Japanese culture and architecture -- is missing.

The top panel is Apollo, in his red vest and white shirt, sitting in front of a tray of sushi and rice, looking quite upset.
The lower panel is Phoenix, holding a piece of sushi with chopsticks and nearly stuffing it into his already rice-filled mouth saying "Eat your hamburgers, Apollo."

Minecraft, probably. Otherwise, I could definitely fall back on HoMM3 and its random map generator.

Drove across a mountain. Totally fine with that. Definitely not in a perpetual state of height-related fear the entire time or anything. Kid took some pictures. Still alive.

SEVEN foot frame RATS along his back Day 1 of the trip and we have gone heavy on the Disney soundtracks, but... 🎵 We don't talk about Bruno 🎶

Alrighty, here's the game plan for the next couple weeks: 1. Family road trip until the 22nd. Takin' the fam to Wally Wo- sorry, Glacier National Park and back. Hitting Wall Drug like a good Midwestern tradition or something, too. 2. Kid starts school, opening up streaming time again. 3. That's it.

I've been disconnected for a while. Discord, Bluesky, Twitch... bit of it all, really. We've got a little vacation coming up in about a week, too. Still alive and kicking, though. Hope you're all doing well. See you soon, maybe?

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 17/07/2026

There are seriously more memorable characters that start with L than I would've thought.

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Don't know about anyone else, but I was surprised to find out that Dragon's Dogma 2 is getting the Dark Arisen treatment and an eternal ferrystone was released -- especially good for a few quests. So that'll be on my Day 1 Buy list. Not a lot gets on there lately, heh.

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Hey all. Still alive, here. Been pretty busy and, with it being summer and having the kiddo home on my days off, the streaming has been shelved for the moment. I'll get back to it at some point, but the current focus is on the dad stuff. Got a handful of newcomers. Did I make it on someone's list?

...everything is on hold for a while. Projects are shelved. Will lurk. Might post. We may need to make some decisions at home.

And, since then, I have made my own frills. Maybe not the frilliest frills to ever frill, but they are mine and I like them.

'Nother multipost for missed days because... life and all. Day 17: Favorite Soundtrack FFVI, and it's not even close. Every track hits you. From the first note of Terra's Theme to the final fade-out on Dancing Mad, it has its hooks in you. Then, when you think your brain has had enough... OCRemix.

So proud of everyone's efforts in our wonderful state. And the countless friends across the country doing their best, too. There's nothing we can't accomplish when we stand together.

Day XVI: Favorite Summon/Spell Summon: Once you get it, every boss gets hit with it: FF VIII's Doomtrain. It was both ridiculous and useful. Granted, most of the status effects were moot against bosses, but noting was immune to the (permanent) defense-dropping Vit 0 debuff.

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 20/01/2026

Hmm... What if... Castlevania. But... Musou? 🤔

110

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 19/01/2026

Alrighty. We're gonna fire things up at some point. Small test run on the new layout. Should, if all's linked correctly, have an onscreen chatbox, alert window, game window, and placeholder slime avatar... which fits for Terraria. Until there's a good crowd, we'll put game titles along the bottom.

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 19/01/2026

Day XV: Favorite Boss Fight In terms of FINAL bosses, I've got to give it to VI for Kefka. The gauntlet before the final battle (possibly including the three bosses immediately before the finale as well, if you don't exit and cycle Strago through the paths to pick up his last Lore spells) was wild.

100

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 19/01/2026

Day XIV: Favorite Summoner Character Okay. I'm a huge fan of the 3D models for Yuna's summons in X (Plus, the Magus Sisters returning? Noice.) but I also have a soft spot for Rydia's story in IV. Skipping the spoilers, because they're good ones, I'll go with Rydia.

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 19/01/2026

Yikes. Knew I'd been forgetting something these last few days. Anyhow, bulk answer session. Day XIII: Favorite Black Mage Characte Is there a Black Mage other than the FF1 classic and IX's Vivi? Lulu kinda counts since the X crew all start as familiar class types, but that breaks later on.

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 19/01/2026

Good morning on this chilly Monday! Might be a small stream or two with a couple placeholders on the new layout. Little "Coming Soon" or "This Space For Rent" signs on the incomplete areas like the avatar panel and that big open spot. Basically, I wanna play more Terraria.

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 19/01/2026

*laughs in Minnesotan* Let's see them deal with this. *throws water balloon*

A temperature reading from a weather app that shows a -1°F temperature that feels like -23°F with the wind chill factored in.

000

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 18/01/2026

Well, it ain't much, but it's a start! May tinker with some of the details and such, but I like the way it's turning out so far. Definitely isn't going to be stream-ready anytime soon; there's quite a bit to do yet. Might opt for a chibi 2D version in the meantime. We'll see.

010

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 18/01/2026

Torn today. Gaming or avatar work. Maybe both. Might change up the pfp once the avatar is done. Will probably still be a while. Suspicious burrito from last night is not doing my gut any favors this morning. Go on, enjoy that Sunday! I'll catch up later.

MP is in a bad spot and, if you have a bit to spare, anything is sure to help.

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 17/01/2026

Day XII: Favorite White Mage Rosa from IV grew on me pretty quickly. Monsters could hit hard at times and, except for a couple Cures on Cecil, you needed a dedicated healer to keep everyone going. Job skills, Espers, and such allowed for wider distribution of support skills in other titles, but -

Happy 🍟day, all! Temps are dropping a little this weekend, so it'll be a good time to curl up under a blanket (or two) with some hot cocoa in a mug (or ten) and relax with some favorite shows or games! Myself? I'll be at work yet, but the gaming and warm drinks will be all the better afterwards.

010

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 16/01/2026

Day XI: Favorite Dragoon Character It's been years and years since I had a proper playthrough of FFIV, but Kain has always been my favorite (sorry, Freya, you never forget your first). The back-and-forth plot with his allegiance had me guessing the whole way.

000

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 16/01/2026

Not too bad for a couple hours jumping between OBS and Krita, y'know? Taken a few cues from the good folks around here I follow (and watch, when there's time). Avatar's gonna be in the upper-left, text on the lower left, the big ol' game screen dominating the right, and maybe some goodies below it.

100

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Doing some work on stream stuff. Yes, I'd mentioned Terraria, but I got out of work late and we are currently in "What can Dad do while the kid blasts KPDH" mode. So... depending on what I can accomplish... new visuals next time?

000

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Little more Terraria in a while. Depends when I can sneak out of work. We'll see if we can put together a few more rooms for NPCs and explore a bit.

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Due to the "Minnesota Nice" trait, it wouldn't be very in-character of me to wish harm on anyone in particular. I could, however, sarcastically hope that no one unfamiliar with our winter weather tries to cross a thinly-frozen lake in a pickup loaded with weapons to investigate some fishing shacks.

010

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Day X: Favorite Job/Class Blue Mages, and similar things like the Enemy Skill materia, are a guilty pleasure of mine. I LOVE characters that can get access to non-standard spells or abilities that are slightly more powerful (or flashy) than the "regular" alternatives.

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

We may not have AC on our little Switch here, but it's great seeing so many people excited for the update! I'll never not be happy to hear about friends enjoying games.

010

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

Started up #Terraria earlier. Fresh world (Classic), fresh character. Found the Crimson pretty quickly. Died pretty quickly after that, too. Then I realized the Graveyard biome is a thing. So I didn't feel so bad... and actually went out of my way to die 8 more times for more headstones.

010

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

Day IX: Favorite Battle System ATB. I want my fast characters getting multiple turns, being able to rez/heal/buff/cast and run circles around enemies. I liked the grid on FFT games, but *every* turn became "get behind X before you attack" or "put your back to something." ...Blade Grasp helped.

010

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 13/01/2026

Yikes. 44°F in January. Should be a negative sign in front of that.

010

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

...kinda feel like unwinding with some Tropico. Whatevs, I guess?

010

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

If this were a REAL Minnesota winter, all of these goons would be stuck in a ditch somewhere.

010

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

Minor SNAFU with the MC launcher, it seems. We'll tinker with it and, if it doesn't improve, there are plenty of other games to play for a while.

000

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

Well, that one ended well didn't it? Diving back for more in 20ish minutes. We'll make the journey back to our little sandy outpost and maybe lay the groundwork for a new house.

000

Dex @dexgaming.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

Day VIII: Favorite Cutscene The entire ending sequence of FFVI. The book. The cast credits. The scenes with everyone. Cannot begin to do it justice.
