My journal for managing my cPTSD. It helps me to know what my system is responding to as I'm autistic and identify emotion based on body feel. I tend to write my journals in 3rd person (ex. The child felt...) because I have a hard time with self compassion, and it definitely helps.

The newest addition to my collection. This is Philodendron atratum sp velvet. She's still acclimating, but so far, her growth hasn't stuttered. I am intrigued by how graphic the leaf emergence is on her, though. She's ripping through the cataphyll like alien out of a chest.

It's watering and leaf cleaning day for Padre, my Philodendron spiritus sancti. In my experience, these guys prefer the higher end of "bright indirect" light but are semi drought tolerant and actually seem to prefer a drier substrate than say a verrocosum would.

After I get everything placed for my base painting, I basically repaint starting from shadow layers to highlights. This allows me to redo good paint strokes in a harder to fix value.

Pearly whites are done in a color called Blue Cotton. I don't really get the name but it works for a base layer. Likely going to go over in a burnt orange glaze to age them a bit and I still need to decide on what tree to put in front of the crocodile but I'd say base painting is done.

The jungle looks happy today. Far right is my new job treat to myself: Philodendron Columbia sp. Platinum, and she's a beauty. Got her for a steal from papercranenursery on etsy during one of their sales. I also snagged a baby genevievianum, but she's on the heat mat due to her fragility as a baby.
