Congratulations on launching into early access! This version of the game is a huge improvement over the past demos! Keep it up 🔥🔥🔥

Some coworkers and I played my #boardgame after work today and had a great time! They picked up the rules by their 3rd turn and started to see the decision space. The best thing I heard from them; "can we play again?" 🥲. We had to cut the game short, but I am so pleased!

🎲✂️Finally have my board game prototype in a digital format. I have a much better appreciation for all the work that goes into making a game on Screen Top. One step closer to submitting my co-op #boardgame to @cardboardedison.com . I want to make sure my rule book has visual examples first!

The main game board in the center shows satellites, pawns, and debris in orbit around Earth. To the left of the game board, we have player spaceship cards with HP, debris capacity, & resource cards. On the right, we have the satellites that must be repaired to win the game.

🎲✂️ Playtest ~13 (losing count lol). Feeling pretty good about my #boardgame prototype. So thankful for my family's feedback over the holiday. Stress testing it at 2/3/4 player counts and refining the rulebook are my next steps. My goal is to submit this to Cardboard Edison in January 2025. 🙂‍↕️

Digital mock up of a #boardgame I am designing. Players collaborate to capture space debris around Earth, recycle it, & repair defunct satellites. Fully repairing a satellite grants a team wide bonus. The challenge is to repair all satellites before Earth is surrounded by space junk! #gamedesign

🎲✂️ Space Debris Cleanup Crew Playtest 5 - end game is not balanced, total explosion of debris cubes. I think the solution is to prolong the mid game to give players more time before the #boardgame climaxes. On the plus side, this iteration is leaps and bounds more fun than iteration 1.

🎲✂️ Working on a co-op #boardgame using what I've learned so far. Players work together to capture space debris around Earth, recycle it, then use it to repair broken space stations. This iteration uses a bunch of components from other games. I've identifying what was fun and what wasn't 🧵

Oooh, that's nice. It appears minimal at first glance, but I see it controls part of the larger game board. Thank you!! 🙇 🕵️‍♂️

🎲✂️ Hey #boardgames, I am doing some research. What are some games that include rotating game boards? I know that #Seti has planets orbiting the Sun. Are there any others that come to mind?

🎲✂️ #boargame #gamedesign analysis: Honey Buzz by @paulsalomon27.bsky.social . This game has gotten to my table more frequently than others recently. We're really enjoying the action cascade after completing 1 (or more) empty cells in our hive. Players can have explosive turns with proper planning! 🧵

🎲✂️ I've made #boardgame #gamedesign diagrams, but never explicitly shared the components. Here is a brief rundown: Square: Rule / procedure. ie, draw a card Circle: End state. ie, victory, defeat, end turn Diamond: Conditional, typically phrased as a question. ie, does the player have X points? 1/2

1. Catan. Fine game, there are other games I just enjoy more. 2. Bang! Fun, but I don't enjoy games where players can be eliminated for longer than 10+ minutes. 3. Root. Great complexity and asymmetry 4. Scout. There is so much to love about this tiny box!!! #boardgames #tabletop

🎲✂️ #boardgame design analysis: TRIO. A simple to teach, easy to learn, card game about collecting sets of cards. There is more depth to this game than meets the eye, as you can request the highest/lowest card from a player (or yourself) multiple times in a row. Beautiful art as well! #gamedesign

🎲✂️Boardgame design analysis: MANTIS. This is a small, simple, and engaging guessing game. A great choice for young kids and/or short games with non-board gamers over the holidays. Simple rules, and small decision space makes this game easy to teach.

I had plans to diagram out a player's turn in the board game Spirit Island. I think this one deserves to be played first hand, that rule book is a beast! This video was helpful, but I have a feeling I wouldn't do it justice without a game or two under my belt. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nsk...

🎲✂️Boardgame design analysis: Pandemic. This is the 2nd co-op board game I've analyzed so far. 50% of player actions are variations on movement, giving players a lot of options, especially on a large player board. The cyclical outbreak mechanic is a fantastic theme fit. #gamedesign #boardgames

🎲✂️ 1st iteration of a cooperative space station board game I'm working on. Players work together to launch space ships into orbit, and return ships back to Earth. While I'm satisfied with the theme, the moment to moment gameplay is lacking right now. 1/3 #gamedesign #boardgame

By @armahillo.bsky.social request, here is a design diagram of a 2-5 player Camel Up game. This is my first time making a diagram on a game I haven't played. Let me know what y'all think! My goal is to do this exercise for 10 board games. Any recommendations? 🙋 🎲✂️ #boardgame #gamedesign

Huge thanks to @r3yal3.bsky.social & @armahillo.bsky.social for their feedback and suggestions on my Splendor player action diagram! I've updated the flow to more accurately reflect a player's turn. I plan to do this exercise with a few more board games. 🕵️ 🎲✂️ #boardgame #gamedesign

As a fledgling gamedev, breaking down someone else's work is a good mental exercise. I created a diagram based on what players can do in Splendor. It omits some conditional checks before a user chooses their action. Overall I am happy with how it turned out. 🎲✂️ #boardgame #gamedesign
