Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 21hMorning. BOL with your replacements today. It’s raining here. Thankful for any rain here. Very mild though. JR got taken to the beach yesterday and they did short video for me. He really loves to run the length of the shoreline. 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Laugh was I could have kissed the delivery driver who told me. Said it was an elderly lady in her 70s frail. So… I don’t look elderly but would love to be in my 70s. I just nodded. Oh. Such a compliment made my day 000
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Morning. Oh so agree. Well, it’s autumn. My alternative of energy drinks for eggs certainly rocked my local ASDA. Apparently the picker got sacked! But extreme I felt. An apology would have sufficed. Ah well. 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Oh my goodness. I suppose the sea temperature is still warm with this extended highish temperatures But worth taking the day off. A lifetime of memories then 030
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Morning. Butterbeans. Emm haven’t had recently. Got me thinking. Well apparently it’s the last day of 20 or above Drought now continues. Water company applying for further restrictions on water use We will be rationed soon I guess. 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Talk talk dreadful company. Impossible to deal with. 000
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 04/10/2026People are daft. There is an hilarious video of a comedian who ( male I never read instruction manuals elk) who on receiving his post colonoscopy examination medication , took the entire bottle in one go! I don’t think he is alone though in doing that. Idiots are everywhere 020
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Morning. Heavy mist here clearing though as the sun has risen. No rain though. Bought a pretty good flashlight last week. Warnings now abound of doom approaching so thought I would. But of course it’s rechargeable so not fully independent of the electric supply. Ah well. It is what it is 010
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Morning. I am going to have to water the gardens’ few remaining pots and some plants that have reflowered because they are dropping badly and no sign of rain. Ahhhh. On a plus note the houseplants put out for summer airing are looking good. So you win some etc. 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Stopping people gambling ( bingo etc online) would help I think. Amazing the number of elderly “ amusing themselves”, do this ( friends of mine) then complain no money left. 000
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Bears out anecdote evidence here in south west UK. Infact local news carried an item on that recently stating that there was a massive increase in the number of cases of Parkinson/ dementia in the area! My GP surgery tells me there has been in a decrease in those entitled to have jabs! 2+2? 020
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Good morning. Still, sunny and relatively warm here. Thinking I could try and put the Daffodils’s bulbs I have sent for in the ground today. Took a picture last spring when daffs were out so saw spots that looked like a few more would be a good idea. Ground is yielding a bit now but still dry 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Oh heck. Got front door open here to get some air in. Rather warm last night. Strange isn’t this difference 000
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Morning. The promised downpour did not happen. Best of luck with TESCO today. Asda not bad last Thursday the cost of beef rising steadily here. roses are giving a go at a late show of blooms. Cut them back in the hot weather to preserve them but that only seems to have encourage growth now! 101

Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Brilliant. All we now need is a virtual journey of HS2 on a lamppost close to a would be station , and our needs will be met 000
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Morning. It’s rained for about 3 minutes. Water in tap now has AGAIN a brownish hue. Full sunshine now so that will soon dry out anything that’s fallen. 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 26/09/2026And it goes much much further than 1 or 3 metres 1150
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 25/09/2026The actuality is that we have never truly left seems to have eluded them doesn’t. 000
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Showed the yesterdays Covid dashboard of UK yesterday to carer this morning. Her reaction was “ I thought it was all over”, said it all to me ( big rise across all aspects from last report) 040
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Hello. Rising numbers recorded in the UK dashboard for Covid yesterday. Ahhhhh. Not reported though in any press as far as I can see. 010
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Hello. Doom thought here in UK. Large number of farmers have not drilled for crops, just spread grass seed. 27 should be interesting shouldn’t it. 000
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Ahhhh. Moving the goalposts. An old trick that 030
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 25/09/2026That’s the Finnish bit ( other countries also). Got nuclear strength ones from Amozen. Long life on them. 010
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I have 3 chairs and 1 does just that but hand weakness I cannot self propel. don’t think I could manage a generator. Memories years ago smelly and noisy. Rob has one for his water supply. will have to hand crank if he runs out of diesel Have 2 solar power light bulbs Have you iodine tablets? 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Ohhh. Mouse free! Put hose on in front garden this morning as a mouse had been disemboweled and didn’t want dog to eat it. Got everything except for power bank. My concern is there is no such thing for my chair or my stairlift ( though they both will work till they run out but no spare batteries) 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Morning. Still like that quick video of the cat. Getting hot again. Garden needing watering almost Dailey now. Still my broadcasting of poppy seeds seems to have worked. Got quite a good germination level. Have you got your emergency box ready? I have followed the Finnish one. 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Oh I don’t think so. Many have not drilled but put the land to grass. That’s really bad news. 111
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Some have done well on some crops but not universal and a few miles difference results in different findings. On the whole, the harvest was much earlier and the crop size reduced in weight and height. Some might though get a silage crop as a bonus if this warm fine weather continues. 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Uk dashboard ( for what it’s worth) published last week for dates up until 7 September has 38% plus increase in reported covid cases. You would think it might make just a corner in news reporting but no. Passed without comment 2114
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Yes apples seem plentiful also. Looked where my potatoes came from this morning on ASDA delivery Fife. Yep that says it all ours are not good here. Heard last week that 2 long rows and one wigwam ( neighbours got together) of runner beans resulted in 3 runner beans only ( uneatable as so tough). 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Morning. They probably will not amount to a great deal but shows you how the climate is changing doesn’t it. Masses of pears this year here. Have you likewise seen a bumper harvest? 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Morning. Listened carefully didn’t hear it clearly. Glad it had a bell though. Need to water some plants they are suffering. No sign of any rain significant or not. Some of the tomatoes left to ripen are just about ripe now. 110
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Really. So the British owners of sugar plantations ( many of whom still own land in the Caribbean) employed…..? 000
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Morning. Autumn today seasons of mists and mellow fruitfulness. On the plus side the hard ground meant I could get to my parents grave to put an autumn arrangement. And do we drift in October 010
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Oh that’s lovely. Morning. Misty here. Probably good for mushroom hunting though. Very dry here. I mean last night I registered in my mind the date. Where did September go? 000
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Probably thinks he can turn them into flags to hang from his triumphal arch then. 000
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Not certain what that means. I know it’s not good but does it mean cities on coasts getting flooded? Sorry to be so stupid 011
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Try living in the UK then. Ours is way way higher ( though we no longer talk in gallons but litres). 000
Sandra Ward @devonviolets2.bsky.social · 17/09/2026I know. My “ flu”, of late 2019 that the doctor couldn’t fathom but which left me with both lungs damage tells me that 010
