“Word of the day: SOHWAKHAENG (Korean) - a small but certain happiness, like a cup of hot tea in the morning or a purring cat in your lap.” (From Facebook QI) A coffee will do too☺️☕️

The resilient Tequila pepper plant continues to amaze us with its perpetual flowering. Today a ladybird taking advantage of the warmth of the sun. They are the gardeners friend and the sign of positivity and luck! 🐞

There’s a chill in the air so the menu is steering away from cold fayre. So as something of an experiment Quorn and Butterbean Bolognese. 🍝

Something different this morning. A walking companion for most of the way! Obviously, a much loved pet, if you listen closely it has a bell on its neck! 🐈🔔

Some followers will know that I had a wonderful crop or so I thought of Tequila sweet Bell peppers. They are a striking purple akin to the colour of an aubergine. Imagine my surprise virtually overnight to see the plant covered in emerging peppers! Watch this space🫑

The ducks drifting along without a care in the world. Not sure what’s going on underneath the water but it looks peaceful..🦆

Our Acers or Japanese Maples are beginning to change. They are such a delight to watch as they gradually go through a artists palette of colours from Green to a dusky Crimson.. 🌳🍂

There is such Autumnal feel to the day. Brisk wind very few birds about or butterflies. Yet the Buddljia still calls them..

We are blessed with many rivers in our region. This one seems to be the domain of a raft of ducks! They don’t always seem to get themselves in a row, but there’s plenty of action 🦆😊

Autumn is approaching. The fire has been serviced and we are ready for the frost! A touch warm for it today at 18°C!😉

Chanced upon some Snowberry bushes today. They’re part of the Honeysuckle family, but you tend to see them in the winter. Have I missed autumn?🍂

Who would’ve thought an Espalier Apple tree could produce such a perfect miniature Apple! Yes, it ‘was’ sweet and crisp! 🍎

We mostly enjoy blissful peace where we live. However, it is on a flightpath for military aircraft like this Hawk jet from Qatar Air Force! They shriek out of the blue and disturb the stillness..

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away” particularly if they have grown in your own garden! The start of the rainier season has our new grass sprouting after being sown only six days ago! 🍎🌱

Another day, another river. They’re flowing swifter lately as we are getting a shower of rain most days..

A cloudless sky this evening perfect for an eclipse if there were one about! Unbelievable after yesterday’s cloud debacle! ☀️

We’ve been resculpting beneath the Lilac tree. It unearthed some tasty morsels that invited a visit from our feathered friends. They could scarcely contain their excitement at the feast!☺️

We take it all back, a break in the clouds and a dash with the pinhole box gave us a wonderful sighting of the partial eclipse! Our work is done!☀️🌒☺️

What a day for basking in the Sun. Anticipation of an almost total eclipse later today has us testing out our equipment! A simple box with a pinhole in it and the professors shoe allowing the eclipse to be visible! There'll be no burnt retinas here!☀️🕶️
