Trump said on Meet The Press that he will focus on "drill baby drill" as a means to get cost of living down. Crude oil is currently trading below $70bl and gas is $2.99/gl. Drilling more oil into global supply would create a glut, driving prices lower. Producers will never allow that to happen.

Political appointments and federal judges require simple majority in the Senate to confirm. The next Senate will have a 53 seat Republican majority so could lose 3 votes and still get confirmed. Many are looking to Murkowski, Collins and Tillis to "to buck Trump", but they won't be being courageous
