@dulanyw.bsky.social, just tried the Codex VSCode extension, but it seems to require an OpenAI sign it (which I don't have) and configuring `~/.codex/config.toml` manually (and reloading the window) doesn't bypass it.
Screenshot of VSCode, showing a side-by-side view of the `~/.codex/config.toml` file which an Ollama configuration alongside the Codex chat, showing an onboarding screen with only three options: "Sign in with ChatGPT", "Use API Key", or "Use device code".

This is what I'm talking about. I can't get any UI to show at all. It's not available in the side panels ("Chat" is Copilot AFAICT) and none of the commands seems to work or show the chat interface. "Cline: Open In New Tab" doesn't exist as described here: docs.cline.bot/getting-star...

This is what I'm actually seeing. I'm not sure how exactly to share a reproduction of this. I just did `curl -fsSL ollama.com/install.sh | sh` and `ollama run qwen2.5-coder:7b` to download Ollama and the model. In VSCode I went into the models dialog and did "Add Models" > "Ollama" > default port.
Screenshot of the VSCode Copilot chat window.

The user says "Hello" and the agent responds with JSON in the form of '{"name": "send_to_terminal", "arguments": {"id": "", "command": ""}}'.

The user then says "test" and the agents with '{"name": "testFailure", "arguments": {}}'.

Finally, the user instructs 'Say "Hello"' and then agent responds with '{"name": "say", "arguments": {"text": "Hello"}}'.

At the bottom of the view, the selected model is `qwen2.5-coder:7b`.

And wrapped today! Got the rest of the DLC remembrances (plus Bayle ofc) at WL0. Actually most were easier than expected with so many Scadu fragments, only Consort and Bayle really gave me much trouble. Since I've shared a couple challenge run Consort kills before, so I'll share Bayle instead.

I was just asking #Gemini about #BlueSky video hosting limitations and if I could work around them by self-hosting a #PDS, and it pointed me at "Bluesky's video.bsky.app transcoding sidecar" which is apparently... a Rick Roll? Did I just get Rick Rolled by my #AI?
Screenshot of an AI chat which reads:

Summary: The 100MB / 3-minute claim is the current standard for the official Bluesky PDS as of their 2025 expansion of video features. If you are on a self-hosted PDS, these numbers only apply if you are using Bluesky's video.bsky.app transcoding sidecar; if you host your own transcoder, these limits no longer apply.

Whoo! Took down Consort (actually hitless!) and wrapped my RL1 All Remembrances run. Had a lot of fun with this and I'm glad I did it, but I think now it's time to play something I haven't beaten multiple times already. #EldenRing #RL1 #Consort #Hitless

To some extent, I understand why it can't solve these complex issues (and I guess it's good for my job that it can't). But that means it's doing all the fun stuff and I'm left with all the hard problems I didn't want to deal with in the first place. It's the developer version of:
A tweet by Joanna Maciejewska which reads: "You know what the biggest problem with pushing all-things-AI is? Wrong direction. I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes."

My latest #MacOS issue is that every time I try to grab the scrollbar in VSCode to scroll down, I end up somehow grabbing the whole window and dragging it. I get that there's a space there to shrink the window width, but the designer clearly coded it so a drag down gets turned into a window drag.

Now that we have an official look for #Angie, I'd love to hear some ideas from the community about where and how we can incorporate them into #Angular! I have some initial ideas bouncing around but want to know what you all think.
Reference picture of Angie, the Angular mascot. It's a cute lil guy with white gnubby limbs with red gloves and shoes. It's body is just a big head, with a red helmet in the rough shape of a hexagonal shield. It's smile and eyebrows present and calm and friendly demeanor.

Also if I try to use the `undefined` email, the page just breaks. Also I'm 99% sure I already configured autopay, but somehow that just didn't take and I needed it to it again today. Seeing errors like this just lowers my overall confidence in the entire site. Shame #PGE, shame.

Also, of *all* the communication settings they have, guess which one can't be configured in the web UI. Like, I get why this kind of thing gets deprioritized, but it's *so* shady for this to be the one which requires an actual phone call.

God save us if someone were to use a period in a free text field. My endless thanks to the #SAP #Concur developers for locking this down keeping us safe from any malicious periods out there. 🙏

One less visible aspect of #Angular #convergence is bringing the best of Angular to the internal #Wiz framework. Wiz itself has never had a DevTools extension, but always wanted one. Since Angular signals are shared with Wiz, we are able to support #YouTube Mobile, a pure Wiz app!

What is up with this font? I feel like I'm being Spongebob'd.
Screenshot of some text for "Document verification" which reads "We're required to verify your travel document details for all international travel. Select the travel documents and complete information for each traveler."

However the font is wacky and goofy with an inconsistent baseline which looks childish and hand-written. It is utterly inconsistent with the serious tone of the text.

Curious if any #webdev #font folks might have insight into why my font has misaligned backticks. It's the #Lora font and looks fine with backticks on #GoogleFonts where I downloaded it, but on my web page it just looks bad. I have no idea where to start with debugging this particular issue. 🤨
Screenshot of a short text snippet, including the phrases "I'm `inline`!" and "I'm `block`!" including backticks. However the backticks are misaligned, with the leading tick overlapping with the "i" and "b" letters while the ending tick overlaps with the "e" and "k" characters.

Playing around with #Cursor today and found this really messed up setup dialog. It explicitly states that you *can* turn off training and presents this as an either/or choice, but then *forces* you to agree to it and buries the opt-out in settings. Shame. 🔔
Screenshot of a setup dialog in Cursor titled "Data Sharing". It describes how "Cursor learns from code to help you get the experience possible" and highlights how "You're in control" with an ability to turn this off at any time.

It then presents a check box labeled "I am fine with Cursor learning from my code (or, I will go Settings -> Privacy to turn it off)". However, the only option is to check the box. The "Continue" button beneath it is disabled and the user is blocked from progressing until they agree.

There is no button or check box to state "Do not learn from my code".

Got an initial (very rough) demo of some of the UX I'm exploring. Imagine this as a diff of two files (I know, there's no colors highlighting the diff). Once synchronized, you can edit the first file and your changes are automatically applied to the second file, while retaining the original diff.

Here's another great example: A fire escape which just ends. That's definitely a safety hazard. Not quite as bad as the missing window I found at launch, but stuff like this is just sloppy. tweets.dwac.dev/134083758031...
Screenshot from Cyberpunk 2077, standing on the top level of a fire escape. A staircase leads upwards towards the roof of the building, it just ends abruptly. It does not connect to the roof, nor is there another platform. If a person attempted to walk up the stairs, they would walk right off the edge and splat on the ground.

TBH, we're all basically copying the Elements panel of standard browser DevTools. Maybe this is really an indication that browsers should have APIs to integrate with that view to display framework-specific information directly.
Screenshot of a DevTools extension featuring a tree of elements on the left with one selected, showing a details panel on the right with CSS details.

Upon closer inspection, this isn't a DevTools extension at all, it's just the Elements panel in Chrome DevTools.

I've been investigating framework convergence from a #DevTools perspective and it strikes me that basically all the frameworks built the same extension which does the same thing. Seriously, look at these screenshots, blur your eyes a bit, and tell me which is which.
