Gotta agree with the classic points. Cyclists are indeed bad for the economy.
A poster reading "CYCLING IS BAD FOR THE ECONOMY" with a picture of a bicycle underneath it.
The main paragraphs read "A cyclist is a disaster for the country's economy - He does not buy the car & does not take a car loan - Does not buy car insurance - Does not buy Fuel - Does not send his car for servicing & repairs - Does not use paid Parking - Does not become Obese Yes,,....and well, damn it!! Healthy people are not needed for economy. They do not buy drugs. They do not go to Hospitals & Doctors. They add nothing to country's GDP. On the contrary, every new fast food outlet creates at least 30 jobs - 10 Cardiologists, 10 Dentists, 10 weight loss experts apart from people working in the outlet. Choose wisely: A Cyclist or a KFC ? Worth thinking about!! PS: Walking is even worse. They do not even buy a bicycle!!"

yeah, i've definitely been perusing those. there's one specific costume that's listed around $300 and someone thankfully wrote a scathing review with a photo. If I can't see it on an actual person or mannequin, I'm not wasting my time and money.
etsy review by someone named 'Ryan' for a "Men's Ranger Warrior Costume", showcasing poorly made green and white fabrics that don't match the quality showcased on the AI photo used by the seller.

The review reads 'Actual item is absolutely low quality garbage. It would be embarassing to wear this trash. It looks nothing like the listing's pictures, has only a few of the pictured accessories, and the accessories included are low quality and also don't match the pictures. Tailoring work here is sad at best. Save yourself the time, do not buy this.'

WSDOT also has started work on a pilot program, giving Cybertruck drivers priority exit access directly into Lake Washington. "We didn't expect that the public would respond so well to what is clearly an unfinished ramp that destroys cars, but our construction crews seem quite pleased about it."

Wanted pizza. There's like six parking spots here. I felt like a goddamn genius taking my bike for pickup, and even the delivery driver made comment to say he'd do the same thing if the customers wouldn't be so worried about how long it'd take to get there.

Agreed. It's just another branch of the same misogyny around women in sports. They don't respect the athletes, they don't respect their abilities, and they sure as fuck couldn't deal with a quarter of the shit they get put through.

I've said it before, but this novel is a must read, if not for the sake of the pure dripping satire that will get you to emit multiple guttural laughs, inbetween the poignant evergreen philosophies that could be considered a starter guide to morality.

Here's a pretty simple take on labor: if shareholders think it's so fucking easy to work at entry level and make it up the salary rung to their position in a black mirror dystopia - then they need to be forced to work in that position and that paycheck and nothing else multiple months per year.

Let's not forget that the initial reaction of the vice president of the Seattle Police Officer's Guild was to crack jokes and say that "she had limited value". That's the attitude of someone who 'protects and serves' the community, right? /s www.npr.org/2023/09/13/1...
NPR article from September 2023 - Headline: Seattle officer recorded joking about woman's death, saying 'she had limited value'

In bodycam footage released this week, a Seattle Police officer is heard making callous comments about a young woman who died after she was struck in a crosswalk by an officer responding to a call. The footage was recorded on January 24, the morning after Seattle police officer Kevin Dave hit 23-year-old Jaahnavi Kandula with his vehicle while he was driving 74 miles an hour in a 25 mph area, responding to a reported overdose.

In the footage, Seattle police officer Daniel Auderer, who is vice president of the Seattle Police Officers Guild, is heard speaking to someone on the phone. Only Auderer's side of the conversation can be heard. He was reportedly speaking to Mike Solan, who is president of the guild, known as SPOG.

Animal Farm is an essential read right now, specifically about the destruction of the Windmill being blamed on Snowball, another pig and Napoleon's political opponent. (Apologies for the formatting, alt text included as usual)
Building had to stop because it was now too wet to mix the cement. Finally there came a night when the gale was so violent that the farm buildings rocked on their foundations and several tiles were blown off the roof of the bairn. The hens woke up squawking with terror because they had all dreamed simultaneously of hearing a gun go off in the distance. In the morning the animals came out of their stalls to find that the flagstaff had been blown down and an elm tree at the foot of the orchard had been plucked up like a radish. They had just noticed this when a cry of despair broke from every animal’s throat. A terrible sight had met their eyes. The windmill was in ruins.Suddenly he halted as though his mind were made up. "Comrades," he said quietly, "do you know who is responsible for this? Do you know the enemy who has come in the night and overthrown our windmill? SNOWBALL!" he suddenly roared in a voice of thunder. "Snowball has done this thing! In sheer malignity, thinking to set back our plans and avenge himself for his ignominious expulsion, this traitor has crept here under cover of night and destroyed our work of nearly a year. Comrades, here and now I pronounce the death sentence upon Snowball. 'Animal Hero, Second Class,' and half a bushel of apples to any animal who brings him to justice. The animals were shocked beyond measure to learn that even Snowball could be guilty of such an action. There was a cry of indignation, and everyone began thinking out ways of catching Snowball if he should ever come back. Almost immediately the footprints of a pig were discovered in the grass at a little distance from the knoll. They could only be traced for a few yards, but appeared to lead to a hole in the hedge. Napoleon snuffed deeply at them and pronounced them to be Snowball’s. He gave it as his opinion that Snowball had probably come from the direction of Foxwood Farm. "No more delays, comrades !" cried Napoleon when the footprints had been examined.
