Literally.
What Wellington First does have is form in stacking councils. Both Weyburne and Paape were instrumental in rates-reduction group Rates Reform from the late 1970s to early 1990s which they said successfully got candidates onto Hutt and Wellington councils.

Apparently we still just need to get to know him.
If only people could see Luxon up close they’d warm to him, if the media just reported the facts about this Government’s achievements, they’d warm to the party.

Or teaching for that matter.
The Minister of Education just announced funding for 36 maths teachers, for the entire country. What if we shifted the focus to using AI to make all of our existing teachers experts in teaching maths.

But he has not the foggiest idea about the public service
wondering how anyone in the public sector, a sector created by politicians in the first place, must have been feeling on hearing that news.

I have spent most of my working life in technology and I have seen first-hand the extraordinary things technology can do.

But always, those extraordinary things have been driven by the creativity and innovative thinking of the amazing team of people I have had the privilege of working alongside.

Ah. Man upset he can't use public property for the convenience of his private business. As you were, then.
He said it also meant they couldn’t park vehicles in front of their property. Kyle said he drove a small truck and digger for work.

“Quite often lately, I’ve been doing on-call work and night shift and I come straight home because it’s not worth going back to the yard and park the truck and digger outside my house.”

So once you have screened for illiteracy, innumeracy and mental health issues, military training magically makes them go away at no further cost to either the state or the individual? Or maybe we could have addressed them with properly funded, evidence based approaches from the start.

With our schools and primary health services struggling, there would be screening for illiteracy, innumeracy and mental health problems, including drug and alcohol abuse.

Scrolling to the bottom of the article and we see this disingenuous shite. "People react negatively to the negative whinging we publish." No shit, Sherlock.
screenshot from Stuff:
"Recent Stuff Sentiment Research has found Wellington’s overall positive sentiment is at one of its lowest points in the last six months.

The data shows broadly concerned feelings when we report on Wellington region specific issues, with stories about Wellington City and Wellington City Council receiving the lowest positive scores - just 3 per cent.

Our reporting on the capital’s small business closures, roadworks, and the loss of public sector jobs all draw strong negative scores.

Analysis of comments reveal widespread frustration with the government and the council, with criticism over perceived dishonesty, ineffectiveness, and failure to address key issues such as crime and the economic struggles of local businesses.

Sentiment is a unique data set that is collected from Stuff’s own site. It is a small form at the bottom of some a pages where readers can anonymously express their feelings and, optionally, provide feedback about how the feel about the article."

At the bottom is the emoji-poll they're referring to.

Bill English's filthy hand in this pot too.
screenshot of text from Stuff:

“We made the commitment to this funding within our coalition agreement, so would like to hear what more needs to be done.”

At Wednesday’s announcement, Doocey said every dollar invested in Gumboot Friday resulted in a social return of $5.70. He did not cite the source of that figure, although it had been previously quoted in National’s 100-day plan and in its campaign material ahead of the 2023 election as coming from a “social impact assessment” carried out by Impact Lab.

Impact Lab was co-founded by former National leader Sir Bill English, who is also the company’s chair.

A source said that while English was respected and recognised methodologies would have been used, if the report was commissioned by I Am Hope it was not independent.

Elliott confirmed to Stuff that the Impact Lab report was commissioned by I Am Hope. “It’s important for charities to show that the work they are doing makes a difference and this does show that,” he said.

The only way that you'd pay significantly more tax up front is if your secondary income was approximately equal to your primary income, in which case you would get it back as a tax refund. If this happened regularly, you would be advised to apply for a custom rate.
