It's a stoner movie from 2006 that feels like it was made on a budget of like $50

Friend of mine came over to watch some movies and the selection ended up absolutely insane

Picked up SiN Reloaded. I'm really happy with it for the most part, I really dig NightDive's take on the models and just having proper HUD scaling is a godsend. My only real issue is how buggy the vehicles are, those are in pretty dire need of a fix.

Soma & Routine both made me violently ill, I chalked that up to chromatic aberration not agreeing with me. Today was weird because I got just as sick watching my friend play Bioshock & I have no explanation for that one considering I played that start to finish in recent years with no issue.

Don't know if it's just coming with age or what, but I've been having some notable trouble with gaming-related motion sickness these past few years. I'd say up until like 2022 the only time that'd happen was in VR or if I was playing something in a car, getting hit with it in my living room is new.

STREAM TIME!!! Trying out the Remaster of Witcher 3. Been wanting to stream more witcher for ages but put it off just for this update. Over at Twitch.tv/papabray

Thanks man, I'd be sure to hit you up for that. Just a matter of getting my shit together to go live sometime lol

REALLY hoping to stream sometime in October. I have God only knows how many games I've deliberately avoided playing on my own time and a surprising percentage of those are prime Halloween time material. Fingers crossed things pan out and I can at least get something in for the season.

Noticed part of my beard is starting to go grey earlier today. I'm only 29 in two weeks, feels a bit early for that.

It's kind of all a mess now. I feel like when some of the big ones like the Sonic Unleashed and Mario Party 4 recomps were done we weren't making arguments about why these things shouldn't exist. Is there anything a i garbage isn't going to fuck up everyone?

120

DesHex 🦀🍻🐉 @deshex.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Does slightly bug me to see multiple people calling for the practice of code recompiling for these ports to stop altogether, I feel that's extremely unwarranted and kind of spits in the face of people who actually put the work in on these projects for preservation and accessibility.

121

DesHex 🦀🍻🐉 @deshex.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Seen some discourse surrounding game recomps on the TL. I really hate that vibe coding has been such an epidemic, having natively running ports of older games on modern systems feels like a dream come true. If people weren't tainting the code with garbage there wouldn't be anything wrong with it.

It's a damn shame that they're potentially really bad for any environment outside of their own and turbo illegal to keep as pets. Would love to have a palm-sized weevil around.

Bought at my local Walmart btw. Never had an instance like that before. Have not been feeling great for a few days now and it's kinda hard not to suspect the biohazard I ate in playing a part there

Ate over half a box of honeybuns throughout the week. I noticed they tasted a little stale, but it happens with those sometimes so I didn't think much of it until I pulled out the 2nd to last one and it was completely blue with mold. Checked the date only to find I was sold 2-month expired snacks.

MtPain's content is one of a kind to me. It's his choice of topic that grabbed me but his honest-to-god passion and exquisite writing that always made sure I'd come back. Whatever he ends up doing from here, he has nothing but the best wishes possible from me.

There's a deep respect for artistic intent and the human desire to create in that series that I genuinely don't feel like I could have seen anywhere else. Game modding and fanmade content aren't often seen as true works of art when they can be and it was such a great experience seeing that rectified

DesHex 🦀🍻🐉 @deshex.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

Just watched the finale of Dean of Doom. The last few episodes of what at first seems to be a review show for Doom projects effected me emotionally more than most media I've seen throughout my life, but I'd be lying if I said that wasn't true. It's so much more than just a mod showcase.

Got a message from my ISP informing me of some maintenance getting done tonight. All well and good, but I genuinely could not tell if I'm going to be offline for closer to 10 minutes or 6 hours and that does have me slightly annoyed. It's one or the other, should be finding out soon

010

DesHex 🦀🍻🐉 @deshex.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Yeah, it was weirdly lowkey release. I haven't heard much of anything about it, but the very little I have has not been good

DesHex 🦀🍻🐉 @deshex.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Okay, that new Kirby game looks very very cool. Wasn't a ton that caught my interest on this one, but I'm pretty excited to see more on Kirby down the line.

Any mutuals given this a shot? I'll admit my interest was kind of in and out on this one as info came out, it seems sort of like Gunfire Reborn with a Serious Sam skin from what little I've seen. I'm not against the idea but wasn't fully sold on it either.

Just got caught up on season 15. Another extremely solid season, I really enjoyed it. I'm still surprised at just how good the revival seasons have been overall. Genuinely cannot wait for season 16, the last episode of this season does end in a status quo change I'm personally pretty happy for

"but using it for code is LESS bad" dude, I don't care and I don't want to hear it. If you have enough passion to create something, then fucking make it, don't just hand it off to a computer and hope it does what you want it too. Prove your project is worth caring about by caring about it yourself.

011

DesHex 🦀🍻🐉 @deshex.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Incredibly disappointed to see just how much the fangame and homebrew scenes are relying on "vibe code" as time goes on. It seems to have been especially bad for PC recompilations lately, I don't know why that process specifically has had such a prevalent slop problem.

110

DesHex 🦀🍻🐉 @deshex.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

I've actually not played a ton of Transformers games and the ones I played were DS shovelware for the Bay movies and an NES game I barely remember playing when I was like 10. There's a few games like Fall of Cybertron I've at least heard are decent, I might just have to seek those out sometime.
