Dad: Anyway, it seemed like transitioning might be a good preventative measure. It was terrible. I was irritable nd dpressed… Mom: <nods> and no sex drive *at all* I think I was the most embarrassed I'd ever been. But I got on E, so, yeah.

Dad: Yeah. It should clear things up pretty quick. I tried it for a month and it was *not* for me. Me: You tried estrogen? Why? Dad: I was at risk from prostate cancer, and since mom is bi– Me (to Mom): You're bi? Mom: Have you *seen* women?

Luna: My relationship with my parents? Good? I think? They're pretty great, even if they're kind of cringe. When I wasn't sure if I was trans yet, I went to both of them. Me: I think I might be trans? Mom: Do you want to try estrogen? Me: . . .

Given trump’s penchant for naming things after himself, we should start calling inflation “trumpflation.”

saw this on Instagram and it so perfectly encapsulated my rage

being so fr when I say that transmisogyny has put feminism back like 50 years

seravph
what i thought we had distanced ourselves from was the reduction of women to vaginas and wombs and the ability to bear children. i thought we had progressed past 'dresses are for women and pants are for men. i thought we progressed past the idea that someone is less of a woman if she does not adhere strictly to beauty standards. i thought we progressed past the idea that naturally being comfortable adhering to highly feminine standards is vulgar. but i (sarcastically) guess no one could have predicted that trans-exclusive feminism would be the downfall of all the progress we've made

Yesterday I was talking and I said “lay” when it should have been “lie.” The person I was talking to didn’t notice, but I cringed about it for the next hour.

I would simply like to live my quiet little life as a trans woman and buy fruit and sing and walk my dog and wave to my neighbors and watch movies and use restrooms without being the subject of a culture “war” where both political parties agree I’m a disgusting freak who doesn’t deserve civil rights

My debut novel, Iron Spirit, came out a couple months ago! It's on Amazon KU until the end of January and then will go wide again. a.co/d/eL1xy3E I'm a nonbinary trans author and one of the characters in this series is trans. (:

A book cover of a young woman with her back to the viewer, looking over her shoulder. She has a rifle strapped to her back and is wearing a white leather jacket. A neon teal flame is in her open hand. A fox made of neon teal flame stands in front of her.

I use whichever seems to fit the project. For one novel with two POV characters (sort of) I wrote one POV in past tense and the other in present (even though alternating in the same timeline) for reasons that make sense in context.

They are validating the right's bigotry against trans people. If you're okay with them throwing trans people under the bus, well, there's nothing I can do about that. But I will not jump under there myself.

040

With how clearly coordinated this sudden heel turn on trans issues by Dem candidates is, I hope every single one of those candidates who has turned on us loses. If it costs us congress, so be it. The fact that they're even saying anything makes my life measurable worse and more dangerous.

And you’re suffering from a poverty of observation if you can’t see what’s happening to trans people in the UK since transphobes took over Labour. That or worse is what’s waiting for us if the transphobes take over the Dems.

022

But if the Dems embrace transphobia trans folk are fucked for a generation. Not voting for transphobic Dems is the only thing I can do to stop that.

090

Jill Writes @descriptivist.net · 19/09/2026

I am voting for every Dem I can who isn’t espousing transphobia. If trans votes are the deciding factor in whether Talarico wins, then Dems will have taken the house. Taking the senate would be great, but the house would be enough to stop transphobic or racist laws from being passed.

180

Jill Writes @descriptivist.net · 19/09/2026

So we fight for equality by voting for someone who is explicitly against equality? Whose election would drag the party most in favor of equality to the right, further from equality? I don’t think so.

Trans people are a slightly LARGER percent of the US population in 2026 than Jewish people were in Germany in 1933. Assholes who say trans folk aren’t worth defending because of population size are telling us exactly who they would have been in Nazi Germany.

So you’re transphobic. Got it. It could have just said that.

I hope she loses. A win on her part drags the Dems further right, and increases the risk of them going the way of Labour, fucking over trans people for a generation.

030

Talarico did that, so I will be skipping that line on my ballot come election time. I hate it. I hate so much the idea of having Paxton as my senator. But as you noted in the thread, if the Dems go the way of Labour, we'd end up in a horrible position.
