My favorite part of being a software engineer is being on vacation and getting a frantic call from my manager about a problem and then looping in a coworker and explaining to them how to fix it in ten seconds. Then seeing the coworker post in Slack that they'll just wait for me to deal with it.

We ruined the friend's dog we watched for a week last month. I was giving her lamb treats with her meals to induce her to eat, since she was stressed at being away from her home for so long. Ever since then, she's refused to eat unless she gets lamb. Thankfully my friend thinks it's hilarious 🤣

The joy of tubeless bike tires: While riding last week, I heard a rhythmic clicking noise. I looked back and saw a nail in the rear tire. I pulled over, yanked the nail out, spun the wheel to distribute the sealant, and continued on. No need to deal with a flat in the hot sun. Tubeless is the way.

As Bea and I continue biking across the state, we came across a warning about the infamous Angry Man. He has multiple F bomb signs, topped off with a loud siren and flashing lights as you pass by his house. Also, I got a bonus nail in my tire a little while later.

Planning on doing the Empire State Trail next month with Bea. First a train to Buffalo, then biking for a bunch of days across New York, and then a train back home. Presuming we go all the way to Albany, it will be the third ( well, 2.75th ) time we've done it since they were 7 years old.
