I have to crow about this. As a fan of #SherlockHolmes from age 8, there's a particular kind of overcoat I've been coveting for decades and could not find anywhere. Well, somebody makes one, and they're making one for me now. (Of COURSE I have the hat to go with it. You have to ask?)

One of the cleverest special effects shots ever: the girl and the doorway were all painted in sepiatones; beyond the door everything was just as we see it. Substitute Judy Garland for a double made up in browns, and presto. #Svengoolie

Tonight's film was criticized by some as nothing more than a quick way to make a buck. in reality, it was a quick way for George A. Romero to regain control of the rights to NOTLD. Nobody involved ever pretended otherwise; but they didn't see why they couldn't make it good, too. #Svengoolie

Just so my #SvenPals are aware: this week's #HouseOfSvengoolie movie is not the original 1968 #NightOfTheLivingDead, but the 1990 remake directed by Tom Savini. It stars Tony Todd and Patricia Tallman, and it's terrific. #Svengoolie

Poor Skip Homeier. As a 14-year-old, he starred in the stage play and film of "Tomorrow the World." He played a Hitler Youth, and while he had a decent enough career, the part followed him. But he took the role in Star Trek, so I guess he wasn't bothered.
