It's time for you to realize that these types of rights are not the type of rights these people care about either way. As long as these are the main points of contention, the ruling class and technocrats know there is no real challenge to their power.

I barely understand your gripe here, probably because I have no clue about furries. All I can say is that Engels delivered and enabled some of the most important contributions to emancipatory analyses of capitalism while owning a factory. Your self-awareness is integral to your message.

Wichtiger Vortrag!

#IsraelFiles Today a Europe-wide investigation into leaked documents from Israel’s Justice Ministry, which I co-led, is going public. We show how Israel spent millions on foreign lawyers to undermine international law & shield the settlement project, war criminals abroad. Will post all articles here

Is this some kind of standpoint theory where jewish people are automatically right about what zionism is? As I understand it people still cling to the idea of a peaceful jewish ethnostate and think the zionism term is just too tainted to represent that. But fighting anti-zionism is zionist.

Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 22/04/2026
I'm actually trying to get to some common truth here, not trying to trap someone or anything. Should I assume that she is against the idea of a jewish state? Here in Germany we have lots of self proclaimed zionists who call out the israeli government like that, so I'm genuinely unsure.

This is just about optics though. They don't want to stop the ethnic cleansing. They just don't want to lose their appeal to the christian zionists, so they can do it faster.

Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 22/04/2026
He said "American Zionists get the same privileges as white people" and elaborated that it's about zionists defending a genocide. I don't understand why you're acting like you just saw a nipple on the super bowl. Maybe you can elaborate.

Are you still in favor of a "jewish state" there though? You have to realize that this kind of tone policing and bad faith reading is the number one weapon of pro-israel agitation. And I think it takes more than what he said to warrant the seal of "rank antisemitism". He even addresses october 7th.

Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 22/04/2026
Idk, lots of people these days are claiming not to be zionists and the say some zionist stuff. Disavowing Bibi, but still going after most anti-zionist statements is still zionism. Criticising israels policies is not even really a distinctly anti-zionist stance. And it for sure is not a hot take.

Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 22/04/2026
You are weaponizing antisemitism just the same as the ADL. What he said is 100% true. Zionists are privileged and they pretend honest anti-zionists are trying to oppress jews, because they THEMSELVES can't tell the difference between zionism and judaism. If you feel attacked, you're a zionist, sry.

Okay, so you're saying men need female role models instead of male ones, which I don't necessarily disagree with. It's, however, a matter of fact that men WILL ALSO look to other men as their role models, and we want those to be good. Call it gender bs, but it's the reality we live in for now.
100
Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 07/04/2026
Didn't watch the video yet, but your argument against male role models seems really weird to me. Did you think that through? Because young men will always have male role models, good or bad. At least for certain aspects. They won't just forget their socialization. Its not excluding female rolemodels

I don't know what this observation has to do with anything. A two-state solution would mean the displacement of millions of people and no end to the hostile actions by the israeli government. Anti-zionists, on the other hand, believe in a genuine coexistence with equal rights under one state.

That language was troubling, but this is just a bad faith interpretation. Anyone who thinks Hasan got mad bc of some anti-black position needs to learn about critical thinking and media literacy asap. You at least gotta try to understand his argument before drawing your conclusions.

No, but I would accept 9/11 as part of the conditions leading to islamophobia. And, of course, urge to analyse what led to 9/11 in the first place and how islamophobia was a necessary mechanism for the US agenda. It baffles me that you won't even allow this depth of analysis when it comes to Israel.
101
Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
How??? I honestly don't understand it. Are you unable to see Israel as a separate thing from Judaism? Would you say it's islamophobic to state the fact that islamophobia in the US increased after 9/11? Because you think that would imply that "muslims did it to themselves"?
100
Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
Of course! I'm not claiming Israel invented antisemitism. It wouldn't even exist without anti-semitism. Biden would have had to invent it himself!

Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
It certainly is used by racists to agitate for the upholding of the white supremacist system. Now, I ask you, do you think a white-supremacist state has an impact on why some black people, oppressed by said state, end up committing crimes?
100
Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
Could be my failure, yeah. To be fair, "overreaction" was the wrong choice of words and maybe set the whole thing up in the wrong direction. All I can ask is for you to find an interpretation that does not imply me defending Abulhawa and then perhaps argue against that interpretation if you disagree
000
Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
Well, I'm asking if the implication is antisemitic or not. I'm ultimately inquiring about explaining vs. defending. I'm of the firm belief that material conditions create people. But I'm open for an argument that explains how Israel perhaps is not responsible for these conditions.

Antizionismus wird zur neuen Normalität — ob dabei die emanzipatorisch-sozialistische oder die rechts-antisemitische Prägung die Oberhand gewinnen wird, ist noch offen.

You know, I forgot that on the internet, and especially on short messaging platforms, there is no nuance. Above all, though, people will never be able to change their minds in a response thread. Me probably included. I'm sorry for wasting your time. Let's just carry on with our lives.
100
Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
I'm afraid this will take an even longer explanation then, and I really wish we wouldn't have to do it here. Let's start with the conflation. Do you believe that Israel's actions have the possibility to make people antisemitic, or do you think that this assumption alone is antisemitic? If so, why?
200
Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
If you frame it like that, of course I don't think that's an overreaction. Look, you want to corner me into an antisemitic frame, and I'm too stupid to stop answering because you've already set your mind on this. That's similar to why I don't want Zohran to engage.

Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
When you ask me if what she said is reprehensible, I won't hesitate to agree. But if a zionist attacks a muslim politician with this question I want it to be clear that this is not about antisemitism but islamophobia actually.
110
Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
No, yes, exactly! It was clearly his strategy last year not to engage with all the Israel and Hamas questions and instead repeat his messaging. Or better, he once just plainly called out the islamophobia of this behavior. I can agree with his response AND still wish he'd answered differently.
200
Joel @derjoel.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
hey, I'm really frustrated with how you're misinterpreting my responses. I feel you are not able to take my arguments at face value and find the worst possible interpretation. I stopped being able to navigate all those different message threads, so dm me if you're interested in talking this out. ✌️
