I thought it was interesting that the General told us / confirmed what every government wants to do with AI, double confirming the need for local AI models running on local hardware. Freedom fighters need this ASAP. #ImagineIf

The only solution in the open weights versus closed discussion is to give everyone equal access to the most advanced models. #ImagineIf

Starlink WiFi means I can reliably use Claude and work from the air. Now that's cloud computing 😆

the government of India officially removes bitchat from the App Store - via jack on X. Apple and iOS are not the way forward.

kind:1111 is the great unifier, bringing together all text notes across the ecosystem.

zap someone. zap doesn't show up. wonder if they're using a lightning address that isn't nostr enabled. go to profile to view their lightning address. Ditto doesn't show lightning addresses. open Primal. search for user. visit user profile. click comments. don't see any of our recent [...]

Omarchy gives old machines work to do. The project demos it on a 2011 ThinkPad X220 with 2GB of RAM. Vintage Intel Macs get a documented support path. Before you recycle hardware, check what a lean tiling desktop can still run.

We know that Fable 5.5 is coming soon... What I'm having trouble trying to comprehend is how something can be that much better than Opus 5.5. A full tier above what we have now? Incredible.

Thank you Yarnlady 🧶 for posting your creations on the Nostr.

The bar is lower than you think. 16GB of RAM, any modern CPU, and either a GPU with 6GB VRAM or any Apple Silicon Mac. The machine you already own probably qualifies. Two years ago this was a datacenter contract. Tonight it's a Tuesday project.

After the earthquake in Venezuela, relief funds moved in Bitcoin because the old rails weren't coming. In Kenya, Bitcoin Babies runs a circular economy where mothers earn and spend sats. Agora exists for this: value to people the system overlooks, no custodian.

oh i didn't realize that top8 was an actual feed. now that's cool. definitely also removing npub1q3sle0kvfsehgsuexttt3ugjd8xdklxfwwkh559wxckmzddywnws6cd26p when i get back from a quick errand. who should replace him? tag them in the comments.

Enough doom. Here's the exit, and it's been running for years: Nostr. Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays. A protocol, not a platform. Like email: open, ownerless, unbannable. Apps come and go. Protocols survive.

Good morning and pura vida, Nostr! Breaking user space is bad, but so is ignoring it too. We need to remember a few simple truths. No client is perfect. No developer is perfect. No one implementation is the path forward. We're in the stage of try everything and see what works and what [...]
