I’m conflicted on this new trend to limit social media access for young people. On the one hand, it limits propaganda efforts to make them into future puppets of authoritarian governments. Like, how are they going to be convinced that electing criminals into power is what god wants?

Interesting comparison. I think dreaming is a side effect of the resetting that goes on in our brains during sleep. An effort of our conscious brain to interpret what’s going on, but not committing it to the mechanisms that work in wakefulness. Maybe mind wandering works the same way.

Depends on how many recipients there are. Easiest way to become rich and powerful is to lie to people who want to be lied to. It doesn’t take a lot of effort or smarts to increase those numbers. Just feed them tribal language and you got their loyalty. They will do anything to keep you in power.
