For those following me from Tapas lists, hello!! I have 3 comics on Tapas: Ultramarine Weather, Happiness Theory, and Glen Hollow. I have contracts for all three but only one isnt exclusive. I'm hoping to get my IP back so I can continue and print them 😭 I hope you can enjoy them!

Using Tapas death as an excuse to finally invest in my own website for my comics after 17 years of self publishing

When you say 'all erotica is bad, no exceptions' you inevitably end up down the rabbit hole of conservatism where LGBT folks, queer culture and anything deemed 'strange' sexually is renounced and eventually banned through legal means.

With the news of the Tapas shutdown looming, just wanted to create a starter pack full of Tapas creators so you can keep up with them whereever their work lands next. Check them out! Also, if you're affected by the shutdown, comment and I'll add you to the starter pack! go.bsky.app/RYenyUa

Tapas is shutting down and yknow what? That sucks. It sucks what they turned into when bought out and it sucks that now I gotta figure out if they still own my IPs and what to do from here but honestly? Not surprised and a lil relieved. They stopped paying me or promoting me ages ago. I want my shit

THAT BEING SAID.... Fanboy Knoxville is next :3 I love TN conventions they are so good to meeeee If you go to TN cons and see me often, know that i love you lots!!!!!

010

Kan 💛🖤 Comms OPEN @denpasei.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

I do maybe 7-9 cons a year and the money I make at these, plus online sales, is my full time job. I've never been in the red (knock on wood) but if a con starts to fall off, I cannot afford to keep going even if I want to 😭

Kan 💛🖤 Comms OPEN @denpasei.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Midwest was ok, I made a good profit but honestly the 9+ hours drive is no longer worth it to me, so I won't be returning to chicago unless I get into something big like acen or c2e2. I just...cannot travel that long anymore without a couple thousand in pure profit when local cons do WAY better.

Its a table where your merch is all out and people pick what they want by hand and buy it, so pretty much what it sounds. It makes nicking a sticker or keychain very easy unfortunately

000

Kan 💛🖤 Comms OPEN @denpasei.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

I HAVE had people try, brazenly, to pull zip-tied keychains off a board so like...they will always try. But if its not EASY they will bail

140

Kan 💛🖤 Comms OPEN @denpasei.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

Ive been tabling for 12 years now and never had a single thing stolen bc I sell menu and make shit hard to steal. It always stuns me to hear about artists being stolen from and then they ALWAYS end up being self-serve tables. People shouldnt steal obviously but they will try so dont make it easier.

150

Kan 💛🖤 Comms OPEN @denpasei.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

I feel like a lot of artist alley complaints would be solved if we all agreed to stop doing self-serve tables. I would stop having people try to buy/unhook display copies and non-menu tables would have less stolen product. Win-win.

"I gotta produce content once a day to stay relevant." Maybe just start with making something because you WANT to 😭

050

Kan 💛🖤 Comms OPEN @denpasei.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

Thinking of making something just to produce "content" to feed the algorithm is exactly why people get burnt out. If you're not making art for yourself first, why are you hurting yourself?

My crankiest old man take is that referring to all art/entertainment/journalism/criticism/comedy/advertising as “content” helped pave the way for broad-ish acceptance of AI slop.

Sometimes I think when I "fixed" my bipolar, I also deleted my drive and passion for drawing constantly and I wonder if i should stop taking my medicine. And then im like, but it was hell?? no thanks?
