Oregonizers has a new website. We've redesigned the site around a simple idea: democracy is easier to participate in when people can actually find the information they need. Explore the new site: oregonizers.org

If voters only hear urgency every October, they'll eventually stop believing you mean it.

Christine Drazan is endorsed by Oregon Right to Life, a group that opposes abortion even in cases of rape, incest, & threats to the pregnant patient’s health. This election is a question of who gets to make decisions about your body: you & your doctor, or politicians.

Keeping our local schools & essential services afloat shouldn’t depend on geography or federal whims. Wyden & Merkley are pushing a bill to extend critical rural funding, ensuring Oregon counties keep everything from roads to classrooms running. 📚 loom.ly/5xV2yNM

Wyden, Merkley Introduce Bill to Extend Secure Rural Schools Funding - Merkley
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, both D-Ore., today were joined by their colleagues Mike Crapo and Jim Risch, both R-Idaho, in introducing legislation that would extend funding for the Secure Rural Schools (SRS) program for three years, and clarify congressional intention for distribution of funding for counties in Oregon with …

We keep saying voters are disengaged. Maybe we should ask why so many of us have learned that showing up doesn't always mean being heard.

Why Vote Democrat? Public schools shouldn't lose money to subsidize private schools.

Every state has that one guy who's like, "We don't have a sales tax!" Buddy... where do you think the state budget came from? Did woodland creatures knit the highways together? You're paying. You're just paying somewhere else.

Once we hand over the land, water & electricity for data centers, nobody seriously thinks those resources are just waiting around for us to take back later... right?

Wyden & Merkley introduced legislation to extend Secure Rural Schools funding for three years, keeping critical resources flowing where they are needed most. Education accessibility is a structural issue, not a renewal clause. www.merkley.senate.gov/wyden-merkle...

Economic literacy isn't memorizing investor buzzwords. It's recognizing that every economic system is a series of policy choices, incentives, & tradeoffs. Pretending the current one is simply "how things work" is ideology masquerading as objectivity.

Democrats generally support a government that regulates corporations when they pollute, price gouge, scam consumers, or endanger workers. Without regulation, history shows companies cut corners fast.

Americans argue about which taxes they hate like there's a secret option where rich people pay their fair share & the rest of us get a coupon. There isn't. We just keep moving money from one pocket to another while billionaires hire accountants who treat the tax code like an escape room.

I am not interested in whether someone has the right title. I am interested in whether they are doing the job. Power without accountability is just entitlement wearing a nice suit. Transparency. Accessibility. Results. Those are not unreasonable expectations.

Campaign finance reform isn't some niche policy wonks argue about for fun. It's the difference between elected officials asking "What do voters need?" and asking "Who's writing the check?" Until money stops buying access, don't act surprised when money gets customer service.

The older I get, the less I think “seeing good in everyone” is wisdom and the more I think discernment is an act of self preservation. Some people are kind. Some people are harmful. Most are complicated. Pretending otherwise gets expensive.
