May 30, 1989: Chinese protestors in Tiananmen Square erect a 33' tall statue they called the Goddess of Democracy, to defy the government's crackdown on them. It took 4 days to build, out of foam & paper mâché. Soldiers tore it down on June 4th. Countless replicas have been made around the world.

Let's be honest: the only interest Trump had in the Kennedy Center was his ability to piss on it. Just like the Constitution, women, or Republicans.

Bluesky's right-wing extremists don't like it when you provide context to their cherry-picking. The original post stated that Fetterman's rise in popularity was due to Republican support for his "common sense against lunacy." I guess @truthseekerusa@bsky.social just can't handle the truth.
A comment providing context to Fetterman's rise in polling, which was used as an argument for folks voting Republican. The context: progressive Democratics such as Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren poll highest, while Mitch McConnell polls lowest.

The use of context in the comment caused the original poster to block me from doing so in the future. Original poster: @truthseekerusa.bsky.social

Jan 22, 1973: The Supreme Court decides in favor of women's rights to autonomy, in Roe v Wade. White men enjoyed this right since founding the US, finally allowing women a fraction after 200 years. So fragile were men's egos at the idea of equality that, 49 years later, it was taken away again.

America's democracy, in the hands of a morally dead man.

Dec 19, 1776: Thomas Paine publishes his first pamphlet of a series on "The American Crisis," under the pseudonym "Common Sense." Written in a time where newspapers/books were the only media people consumed, it gave voice to America's hope for freedom after Britain's monarchy was defeated.
An excerpt from Thomas Paine's "American Crisis."

"These are the times that try men's souls: the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands by it now deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph."

A reminder of Pam Bondi's DOJ memo this July. Either: 1. Epstein was the lone perpetrator in over 10k digital files against over 1k children. 2. The DOJ is horribly inept. 3. The DOJ is involved in a massive child sex coverup by people as influential as Trump. Occam's razor says Door #3.
A portion of Pam Bondi's DOJ memo with specific sections highlighted:

"over ten thousand videos and images of illegal sex abuse and other pornography"

"did not expose any additional third-parties to allegations of illegal wrongdoing"

"We did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties."

To be an American is to: - Embrace education & science, - Know a diverse society is stronger, - Work for change, not stagnation, - Believe in due process, not deportation. Trumpism is today's unhinged McCarthyism. Where are today's mainstream Murrows fighting for our Constitutional tomorrow?
An Edward R Murrow quote: If none of us ever read a book that was "dangerous," had a friend who was "different," or joined an organization that advocated "change," we would all be the kind of people Joe McCarthy wants.

Upon the death of JFK, MLK turned to his wife and said, "This is what is going to happen to me also. I keep telling you, this is a sick society." Even still, he pushed on, hoping to help create freedom and compassion that he knew he may never live to see. This is the hope Trump wishes to destroy.
Above, a portrait compilation of MLK, JFK, RFK, and Trump. Below, a quote from MLK's book, "Why We Can't Wait."

"We were all involved in the death of John Kennedy. We tolerated hate; we tolerated the sick stimulation of violence in all walks of life; and we tolerated the differential application of law, which said that man’s life was sacred only if we agreed with his views."

An excerpt from Lyndon B Johnson's speech to a joint Congress, upon becoming President after the assassination of John F Kennedy. It reads as almost the exact opposite of the Trump Admin's policies, which is why it's so important to push back against them.
An excerpt from LBJ's speech:

John Kennedy's death commands what his life conveyed - - that America must move forward. The time has come for Americans of all races and creeds and political beliefs to understand and respect one another. Let us put an end to the teaching and preaching of hate and evil and violence. Let us turn away from the fanatics of the far left and the far right, from. the apostles of bitterness and bigotry, from those defiant of law, and those who pour venom into our nation's bloodstream.

Extremely dangerous talk by Trump, on Brian Kilmeade's podcast, where he opens the door even wider for his most committed supporters to kill political opponents. This is exactly how narcissists are sane-washed. "I didn't say kill them." (he did) "I said they used to kill them." (he'll pardon)
Trump on Brian Kilmeade, "I'm not threatening them, but I think they're in serious trouble. I would say they're in serious trouble. I'm not threatening death, but I think they're in serious trouble. In the old days, it was death."

Oct 28, 1886: The Statue of Liberty is dedicated, by President Grover Cleveland. For almost 140 years, it has been a symbol of America's resistance to oppression & its promise to be a better place than people may have left behind. Americans still fight for that promise, even if our leaders do not.
Part of Grover Cleveland's dedication speech: "We will not forget that liberty has here made her home; nor shall her chosen altar be neglected. Willing votaries will constantly keep alive its fires, and these shall gleam upon the shores of our sister republic in the East. Reflected thence and joined with answering rays, a stream of light shall pierce the darkness of ignorance and man's oppression, until liberty enlightens the world."
