In Jackson County, Woodhouse told county boards, “Don’t let them have a vote,” and in Anson County he told board members to “redo that voting plan.” This is plain wrong, and his resignation is proof. But with many counties still meeting to finalize plans before July 24, we’re still on watch.

Dallas Woodhouse, former executive director of the NC Republican Party and “election liaison” to the State Auditor, has officially resigned. This follows troubling findings of election interference, with county boards claiming Woodhouse was strong-arming them to vote a certain way on voting plans.

County boards of elections have been meeting to discuss early voting plans. At the same time, Dallas Woodhouse, a now reassigned “election liaison” for the State Auditor’s office, was found to be strong arming board members to vote “no” on plans that help student and rural communities. #ncpol

This bad-deal budget is not just an overdue spending agreement negotiated behind closed doors and passed in a rush with little input from the communities it will impact. It is a long-term economic choice that would leave NC with fewer options, weaker public investments, and a wider wealth gap.

It’s not retroactive, there is no room for public comment or meaningful debate from lawmakers, and it’s filled with controversial projects and programs that aim to further erode trust in our government and public systems. Call your lawmakers now to demand they fill these gaps!
