They really waited until I was in the car on the way to work to go for it, huh... Thanks for the heads up. I recovered the account/changed password/added multi-auth, so it should be good now

Thanks Joce! Compulsively checking this site definitely has an inverse relationship with me engaging with any kind of hobbies, so I hope to get back to doing more than like, one drawing a year

Hey Cake, I've been alright. It's definitely cooler up here than where you are, but also I am a cave dweller that only exists inside a temperature-controlled building for work and my room. Hope you haven't been suffering from 200% humidity Floridian heat

I'll still probably check in here occasionally because I don't want to be completely out of the loop, and I also still want to see art from artists I follow, but I think I may just restrict my scrolling/posting to sundays, unless I want to post a drawing or smth

Finished CSM part 2 finally. Probably not going to be on here nearly as much anymore tho. Don't think I fully realized how much of the 'guy destroying their mind wielding the cursed orb for 23 hours a day' meme I was embodying until I actually fully stopped using this site for an extended period

Sounds like CSM part 2 finished up today. Maybe need to just hop off of this site entirely until I read it. Was still early on where I left off, so I guess I'm just re-reading it from the start at this point.

"How do we get people excited about Demonschool during the steam spring sale?" "maybe a new trailer?" "...maybe every trailer??" If you like what you see, buy Demonschool! It looks and plays and sounds exactly like this. store.steampowered.com/app/1900250/...

Also need to learn how to actually get books I want to read onto this thing by today, before my motivation fades and it just turns into a trinket that sits on my dresser while I continue reading on my phone

Watching the opening to Elemental Gelad, and being hit with the very strong feeling that this show would have irreparably altered my brain chemistry had I watched it as a child. Also funny that Ky Kiske is here

it's a shame that an official localization of the 7th dragon series never released, but luckily there's a fan translation of both psp games (2020 & 2020 II) ... delightfully abandoning the etrian-like fantasy setting in favor of tokyo, hacking, the us government and hatsune miku (??)

New .hack//Z.E.R.O. interview from @theswweet.myatproto.social with CyberConnect2 VP Taichiro Miyazaki. Lots of interesting insight due to some great questions. www.rpgsite.net/interview/19...

RPG Site: Fully understanding that, again, very early on in the project, there's still a lot you can't even talk about - and even if you do have an answer to it, it's not necessarily something you can divulge - would you say that an element of the design consideration with Z.E.R.O comes down to how MMOs are perceived differently these days?

Back when the original .hack// came out, the most popular MMOs of the time were like early Final Fantasy XI, and Phantasy Star Online, which is inherently a very different type of MMO from something like Final Fantasy XIV, all of these gacha MMOs, like Genshin Impact, and, of course, like modern World of Warcraft. Is that element of consideration when designing a .hack// for a modern audience?

Miyazaki: Yeah, absolutely. We will be thinking about sort of incorporating what the new MMO perspective is, but we don't want to, you know, bring the game too close to that, either. I think the basis still should be that we want to meet the expectations of the fans of .hack// who have played the original games. So I think there will be quite a bit of trial and error in this field where we try to ensure that the game feels modern.

So that It's got that vibe, that's like very close to what we're seeing in the MMO world now, and also to make sure that we don't take it too close to the classic .hack// in a bad way. Like, I think if we were to bring the game too far in either direction, especially if we were to try to emulate the older games too much, the game would just feel kind of cheap.

In that sense, this is how we will be architecturing the game from here on. The important thing for us is that the new .hack// feels novel, feels fresh, and that it takes in these ideas from current MMOs. But, that's something that we are going to have to really break down and analyze - what does it mean to have an MMO in this day and age - and then see which parts, which important themes we can bring into this new game.
