there is no reason for those zelda 40th leaks to be fake man there is just no love for the game of faking something like that anymore

You don’t have to like this guy‘s politics to recognize that everyone who has insisted for decades that The Issues are almost all too complicated and too nuanced to explain to voters let alone address was lying to you.

a wii u level flop is not enough, i need the ps6 to fail so spectacularly that it puts sony in the red for a decade and they exit the gaming business for good

honestly i predict there's a good chance it comes back for the 40th! that reveal trailer for the Ganon LEGO set uses an unreleased recording of the OOT suite, so maybe they're planning to release a new album and start a new tour :)

I'd like to extend a massive fuck-you to my younger self for developing an exact specific set of interests that just so happen to all simultaneously be getting violently choked to death forever by the relentless corporate avarice of the industries they belong to

i do not want the games industry to recover. i want something new to be built atop its now ashen foundation and i want those who previously brought ruin, rot, and misery to be outside looking in as they give up and seek some other well to poison

The voice direction also seems to swing wildly in quality. It's stellar in the interrim cutscenes but during gameplay everyone sounds either bored or like they were given zero context and told to do one read for each line. No reason they couldn't have just matched the energy of the original lines.

Ocarina of Time traumatized its original audience with fleeting moments of grimdark folk horror, but today's youth will be petrified by its melancholic portrayal of the one fear they all share: aging

As you can see, Xbox held their presentation on 6/7, while Nintendo is holding theirs on 6/9. This is due to their core company missives; Nintendo holds fast to traditional (and successful!) gamer values, whereas Xbox is a brand that constantly tries to remain relevant by latching onto trends

it drives you insane how much erosion of freedom is justified by concern for kids when the people who actually hurt them will never face consequences

If going forward Nintendo is prepared to continue skimping on diegetic elements in 3D Zeldas to then repackage them in spinoffs I hope they have the foresight to understand that this is how it will make a lot of people feel and it is ultimately not a great or sustainable idea

I'm sorry but if you waste a whole set of characters on a 5-minute copypasted exposition dump, the only thing I will be able to think when you turn around and show they did have faces and personalities and backstories is "wow could have fooled me, where was this before?"

Age of Imprisonment appears to have a lot of cool stuff but most of it I can't really be excited for without it being dampened by thinking "gee this would have really been enriching had it appeared at all in Tears of the Kingdom, the game that this is based on"

I used to get annoyed with the "hey take a break" advisories in early 2010s Nintendo games but these days I think all games and apps on all devices need that shit built in by law

Del 💜 @delsbells.bsky.social · 04/03/2025

I am genuinely like 70% certain there will be a short proof-of-concept teaser for the next 3D title, for no other reason than "they usually do that at least 2 years after the release of the previous one" Cool thing about that is, if it's not in this Direct, could be any time soon!
