USPS quietly changed its postmark rules — mail is no longer dated when you drop it off. The “official” date is when it hits automated sorting — sometimes days later Which could have major implications for mail in voting — it’s a clever way to disenfranchise voters that’s going largely overlooked

I made this ad nearly 40 years ago for Marvel. It was intended to make you think about a fictional world where such horror could exist, not make you realize you were actually living in that world.

I have to admit it, I find it amusing to watch all of the people buying Nvidia GPUs and having drivers issues. Guess that's what happens when Nvidia lays off half their gaming driver people and instead works on more AI devs. tip: Don't be an EA, don't lay off your QA teams.

Question is will that hold. Nintendo was only able to keep the price because of the 90 day hiatus on the price jumps. If it goes through after launch the price will have to go up.

Wow Nintendo kinda delayed the pre-orders for this. So likely they cant afford to release the Switch 2 in the US at this target. Will be interesting to see what happens. Here I thought the main issue was going to be the WiiU energy (bad system sales, good games) coming from the announcement.

... ... So... the Switch 2 was announced with its MSRP for 449.99 USD earlier today... it will now be 600 to 700 USD now it seems due to import duties this afternoon..

Mewtwo seems to be very knowledgeable with what kind of training would work best for them. Let's hope to see results soon. Public release of September's patron art!

Oh god I remember these. Those hand crank flames. It was like a sub-genre in some music videos. I vaguely remember one where the contraption was hooked up to a generator running the MV itself. *remembers back to when there were music videos on MTV*

I feel a little bad for Mufasa honestly. They fixed some of the mistakes in char design vs remake. But, I think its set up to do quite a bit less then the orig. Then again Sonic took the fan feedback on the orig previews and made a better movie for it. I think that's part of the investment of fans.

based on some of the wiring I assume its using some recycled PSTN equipment from the 70s or 80s. Wait will the dial tone now be human powered?

I find following it a bit bemusing since Disney PR (not just the fans) are actively going out of its way to crush all dissent in its wake. *chuckles* its so petty all based on estimates with pretty much no real audit-able numbers behind it. A lot of territories have no real mechanism to even count.

Then the 40s and 50s nod while wincing that its their kids now saying it? lol.

000

Chakat Deirdre @deikitty.bsky.social · 30/12/2024

I don't give the distributors or many insiders in the movie industry much grain of salt. Playing fast and loose with the numbers is the norm. I am just shocked to see a videogame movie be able to stay so close to something with all of Disney behind it. Just saying the final stats will be interesting

Chakat Deirdre @deikitty.bsky.social · 30/12/2024

Yet there are plenty of theaters you can't see it on in the US because Disney locked them out. It's not huge, but the Disney juggernaut does inflate their movie sales through packaged deals and 'or else' lockouts. You will carry plenty of soso Disney movies heavily to risk not losing on the next gem

100

Chakat Deirdre @deikitty.bsky.social · 30/12/2024

It's also funny how Disney is artificially inflating mufassa by locking Sonic out of IMAX, dbox, and a lot of theaters by threatening premium theaters from giving screen time to other movies if they ever want a future Disney release. But yah, the little island of Disney marketing is always hilarious

Earlier this year I signed up for a small monthly donation to Wikipedia. It's a nonprofit, entirely human-staffed online resource whose aim is to use crowdsourcing to provide the most accurate information possible, w/ links to reliable sources. Think about who would not want that to happen and why.

I replaced the cartridge and did a little mod to bypass some of the circuitry in there. Sounds soooo good for a fraction of the cost of one of those Project tables.
