Each night I used to pick a random kindle unlimited book that I didn't plan to read. I would open it in the kindle software. I'd use the read to me feature to read the book overnight to the empty air so an author could make some money. I haven't done it lately but I think I should start again.

It was a little fiddly for me too, at first. Being old aka knowledge of DOS helped. The page should list that you need to install the launcher too and to run the install as admin.

Reminds me of the protest I did a while ago when Congress expressed an interest in what happens with my menstruation. I emailed daily updates for a while since they seemed very concerned with my cycle. I wanted to put their minds at ease about how many supplies I used, etc.

I love my kindle/ereaders but there's something about a paper book. I miss wandering through a used book store to find a well loved book that I haven't read before. I miss library day as a kid. I miss the book fairs. Why don't we have adult book fairs that come to work? #BookSky

Are you looking more for a forum type conversation or more twitter style? I miss the comradery of tax twitter but I also kind of judge the people who haven't made the move after knowing how uncomfortable a lot of the female tax twitter people were on twitter. It feels like we didn't matter enough.

Oh I would try to do something if I had more power and I’m well aware some would call me evil. My job has had to implement major data security changes in the last 2 yrs. It’s infuriating we have to spend a fortune on security and the country just lets these yahoos run wild. I agree they suck.

This is why I left X. As useful as taxtwitter was, the price of admission was too high. I find discord much less hostile than almost all other social media. But I curate my discord servers pretty heavily. @onlineadviser.bsky.social Have you considered a discord? It can be subdivided into topics.

The movie was good but the series was more interesting. The series obviously had more time to develop some characters and plot lines which made it more enjoyable to me. I don't think I saw the movie before the series, though, so I may be biased.

That's very interesting, thank you! Cheese is a mysterious item that appears in stores then goes directly into my belly. I had no idea it required a "special type" of milk. I do taxes for some dairy farms but my questions usually revolve around the cows (grown or bought? jewelry info?) vs milk.
