We'll talk about building characters, useful resources, advice that works (or doesn't), & more! the Discord link: discord.gg/sUjggK7qKu

Yesterday was very very wet, but we went to Osaka Castle and tried to enjoy the gardens, regardless. People talk about the castle a lot but no one talks about how positively massive all the walls are. They were frankly some of the most impressive parts!

I'm going to bed soon; I would love wake up & cackle at a screenshot from someone with an update showing 69 backers, because I'm mature like that. We're at interior illustrations (barely!) and next stop, $4k for *more contributor pay!* Come support toxic 💖! www.kickstarter.com/projects/par...

The way they make the screen in front of that section opaque, then translucent with the field of stars, and reveal Atlantis in all her glory? Perfect.

Going to also share the @duckprintspress.com cover for our polyamorous erotica anthology. The erotica part might give away that this book fucks, and in many ways, but the art does a hella clear job too.

A book cover with three people lying on top of a pile of flowers. The people are illustrated in black and white and are very naked, though no genitals are visible; one is laying down face-first, head on the second's abs/in their crotch. The second person is on their back, being held from behind by a third person. The flowers they're lying on are shades of pink, purple, and yellow. The book cover title reads Many Hands: an anthology of polyamorous erotica.

Today we are outbound from Ballarat to the Great Ocean Road and points westward! I have to say, though, that the centerpiece of Ballarat being the lake is fabulous. It's a gorgeous piece of wetlands/marsh lake and I love it.

A marshy lake with a narrow strip of clear water in the midground and green water plants in the fore and background. The top half of the photo is the sky at sunset, pale blue fading to pale yellow.

I knit. No one could afford my knitting if I were to sell it, but the most important part is *I don't want to*. I do it because I want to spend time doing something I love and give gifts to people (or use myself) the things I make.

Having spent theast chunk of time in Guilin, I would apologize in advance if the first wave of stories I write this year are all also set in various iterations of Guilin. But Guilin is cool and I had a lot of fun here so I am not sorry one whit.

This is the deck/balcony/porch view. Time to get some writing done!

A view of several karst mountain landforms covered in trees, with the edge of a brown balcony/patio fence and a large thicket of bamboo and several fallow vegetable/rice plots currently drained and brown.

Looking forward to this being out in the world - the TOC is full of great people and the stories are a great mix of takes on Weird West. We're expecting a release date next month for this!

The cover of a book anthology, titled TWISTED TRAILS, Tales of the Weird Wild West, Edited by Eric Fomley. The cover has a person of unknown gender in a duster coat and cowboy hat facing away from the viewer, looking at what appears to be the remains of a town being twisted into a spinning cyan portal.

I am delighted to announce that in the 12/25 edition of Dirty Magick Magazine, I will have a short story (THE EXILE'S PYRE) where Jórunn makes her first appearance! There are two more sword-and-norsery stories with her on submission now, but @cdbrown.bsky.social will have the first one!

These are possibly some of the most delicious fries I have ever had: french fries with salted duck egg yolk grated over them. Not an idea I've had but now 100% on board for it.

If you're at ReaderCon, swing by the Duck Prints booth! I'm not there, but some anthologies I'm in are! (and maybe a couple of my short stories printed as zones). Go buy #queerbooks! (Pretty please. We love when our books go to new homes.)

An event booth for Duck Prints Press, the flat table full of deliciously queer anthologies, short stories, novels and novellas. Some short stories printed as zones are upright in a stand on the left.

So it has taken me this long to get into school and get a picture of the booth, but @vicchao.bsky.social we DID get the recording booth, and it's being used. My husband is grateful for your help (the rest of the stuff only gets put in while it's actually in use).

As a treat today, we got McD's. We got red envelopes for lunar new year! I am a little sad we missed the Ultraman mahjong set though.

Three vertical envelopes, one red, one gold with clouds and an arch, one red with a snakeskin pattern and silver snake on the fold. On each is written 祝你今年金拱门 : "Wishing you happy golden arches this year"

I have no pets to share photos of to cleanse timelines, but I will share this photo my mother-in-law sent of "a baby elephant seal that just lay there with his eyes closed making the biggest ruckus." It looks like a forbidden potato. And like it would jiggle excellently if it moved.

I have so far been (un)helpfully provided this image by MC Escher as a joke, and perhaps it will also amuse you. I'm continuing to dig and waiting on my backup smart person with all kinds of niche knowledge to get home and will interrogate him when he does.

Tonight we are sharing some of the Most Precious Rum. I'm sad it is no longer made by Francis but we have her recipe and the guava liquor for it. I will fight over this rum; it's only made on Saba, an island in the Caribbean, and exported about as far as St Maarten right next door. We love it.

Can I interest you in the peacock mantis shrimp? Pretty, can see colors/spectrums we cannot IIRC, look perpetually grumpy, and also extremely violent. Those pretty claws are made for stabbing.
