Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 20/09/2026The Metal Slug Ultimate Edition sure would be a whole lot more ultimate if it also included the Neo Geo Pocket Color games and Metal Slug XX (and maybe that weird 3D version that never came to the States). This is almost the same compilation we saw on the PSP twenty years ago. 000
Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 18/09/2026And while we're ditching people, we need to kick Paul W.S. Anderson to the curb. He's just not very good at directing movies. 110
Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 18/09/2026A lot of people want today's story-rich games to be adapted to movies and shows, which confuses me. I've played those games. Netflix's Castlevania did it best. They honored the lore, while fleshing out the story in their own way. It ended up making Dracula's Curse even better. 071
Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 18/09/2026I don't want a video game movie (or show) to recreate my gaming experience. I want to see how somebody builds something in the confines of the game world. Honor the spirit of why people loved the games. That's all I ask. 010
Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 18/09/2026Cregger's Resident Evil movie made me realize that there are a whole lot of people who think a video game movie needs to be a direct shot-for-shot remake of the games. That confuses me, as we've already experienced that. An adaptation should replicate the best elements of a game in movie form. 231
Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 18/09/2026The "normal" Resident Evil movie was shit. At least Cregger respects the source material. As it turns out, all you needed to do was make it feel like a Resident Evil game. 110

Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 06/09/2026With a budget of $70m, Coyote vs. Acme was never really intended to be a theatrical release. That said, assuming WB had released it theatrically with a modest marketing campaign (around $30m), it would have had a hard time breaking even. That said, it would have made more than than $30m write-off. 010
Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 06/09/2026Coyote vs. Acme held exceptionally well (only a 29% drop) and it looks like it will end the 4-day weekend at around $37m. That's fantastic, especially when you consider Ketchup's investment ($30m + $10m marketing). It still needs to get to around $60m to break even, but that seems more than doable. 121
Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 04/09/2026I suppose it helps that it's only five dollars, so maybe people are willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I didn't when I reviewed the game last year. I was (rightly) skeptical. It's a shame, because it's not a terrible game. Just an incomplete one. 010
Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 04/09/2026In case you're wondering, the developer pulled the exact same stunt with their last game. It launched with only the first part complete, with the promise that the rest of the game would come soon. A decade later, that content never materialized. They just abandoned it, just like Keys of Fury. 100
Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 04/09/2026Keys of Fury launched incomplete last November. It had about 30 minutes of content, with the promise of more coming February 2026. It was not a demo or early access, just a full-price game that was left unfinished before launch. Now, 7 months later, let's see if that content ever came. Uh oh ... 110
Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 04/09/2026At least that's goofy in the way that was consistent with the rest of the story. This is basically the "I realized my dad was a serial killer after he died, so I guess I should continue his legacy as a serial killer" trope. A jarring change for one of the main characters. Dumb! 010
Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 04/09/2026Palm Sugar: A Village Story has one of the dumbest (and most unbelievable) plot twists I've seen in a really long time. 100

Defunct Games @defunctgames.com · 01/09/2026Nintendo Power rated 254 different games worse than Superman 64. To be fair, they rated 4,285 games above Superman 64, so it's all in how you report the numbers. 062

Reposted by Defunct GamesDefunct Games @defunctgames.com · 30/08/2026While Coyote vs. Acme won't break any box office records this weekend, it will become the highest-grossing film distributed by Ketchup Entertainment. All it has to do is clear $8.8m ($15.5m worldwide) to beat out The Day the Earth Blew Up. It already topped Hypnotic ($4.5m) and Goodrich ($1.4m). 171
