Not all unions agree on that take. And more importantly, imho: he didn't stop there. He continued to work with the railroad corps to get what the unions asked for.
AI text:

In December 2022, President Biden signed legislation forcing a compromise to avert a national rail strike that threatened severe economic disruption. The deal, based on a September 2022 tentative agreement, imposed a 24% raise over five years and significant bonuses, but lacked the 7 paid sick days demanded by unions, providing only one additional personal day.
Key details of the Biden railroad union compromise included:
Forced Agreement: Congress passed, and Biden signed, a bill utilizing the Railway Labor Act to codify a contract, making a strike illegal.
Contract Terms: The agreement included a 24% wage increase (2020–2024), with an average $11,000 retroactive payout.
Lack of Sick Leave: While the deal improved health care premiums and attendance policy flexibility, it failed to include the paid sick leave that several unions requested, which was a major point of contention.
Political Fallout: While 8 of 12 unions approved the deal, 4 voted it down. Biden was criticized by some workers for removing their right to strike, although he maintained the agreement was necessary to prevent an economic crisis.
Post-Deal Actions: Following the forced agreement, the Biden administration continued to pressure rail companies, leading to some, but not all, companies later adopting paid sick leave policies through separate negotiations.

And there I thought I understood how bsky blocks work. Because this is how his timeline looks to me right now. There's still a report of you visible. Which I thought is impossible when he blocks you 🤪 But I think you are correct, sorry for blaming you on this 🙏🏼

That's sort of a red herring. Actually, that's delusional level of ignorance. Dems have to focus on winnable races. Sure, it's important to be on the attack everywhere. But in the end, races cost money that is limited.

In all fairness: the headlines might need context. In 21, there might have been an expectation for post covid unemployment to go down even faster. In 18 you had a pretty low number already. Absolute numbers rarely tell the whole story.

Unfortunately, he wouldn't have to jump. He would just tell them he is flying. Know your Orwell!
O’Brien silenced him by a movement of his hand. ’We control matter because
we control the mind. Reality is inside the skull. You will learn by degrees,
Winston. There is nothing that we could not do. Invisibility, levitation —
anything. I could float off this floor like a soap bubble if I wish to. I do not wish
to, because the Party does not wish it. You must get rid of those nineteenthcentury
ideas about the laws of Nature. We make the laws of Nature.’

problem we consider solved for us". Or an example that really comes out of WRITING. This is from an interview @mmasnick.bsky.social did, talking how he uses AI to improve his articles for @techdirt.com Does that mean I like what Musk is doing with Grok, or how well, any of these Silicon ...
“But what I'm able to do with AI is deliver to them a much more thorough, a much better piece in the end because what I end up doing is I write, I write my entire article without using any AI at all. And then I have a set of very, very detailed, I think this actually matters, but very detailed, very thorough prompts. That I ask the AI and I say basically, I've trained the AI that I use on Techdirt articles, first of all.

So I'm saying I'm writing for Techdirt. This is what a standard Techdirt article is like. This is what the audience is like.

This is what they expect. They're not expecting the kinds of things that other publications might expect. And then I sort of say, I need you to be a tough but fair critic of what I've written.”

“Go through this and tell me, where is it weakest? Where are people most likely to be able to challenge what I'm saying? How can I strengthen those arguments?

I have a bunch of other things in the prompt, and the AI will go through it and say, oh, really interesting things. It'll pick up on things like, you mentioned such and such in the opening, that feels like the key thing that you're going to talk about, but then you don't mention it again until the 18th paragraph. Maybe it should be moved up.

Or this argument feels a little bit weak and you're rushing through it. I think you need to emphasize things, things that a good editor will do and that my human editors will do, but if I can take care of that before I even hand it off to them, I feel like then they can focus on things that are even more productive as well. And so it's actually made me a much better writer and it sort of continually drills into my head like, think about this, how do you do a better intro?”

I made my point: that a lot of people are weaving "reasoning"/"understanding" into the discussion, and that "agentic" is a very convenient way for them to oversell again. As said, I see that in the material my own company puts out, but even in (otherwise very decent) expert talk
“So, what is agentic AI mean? In very simple words, and this is gross oversimplification of things. But if my LLM is given the capability of making decisions autonomously by providing it memory in some way and access to a lot of different tools like external APIs to take actions, that becomes an autonomous agent.

So my LLM can reason, can plan, knows what has happened in the past and then can take an action through the use of some tools. That is an AI agent, very simplistically put. Now think about it in terms of rank.”
