I’m not a lawyer (though my lawyer thought maybe I should be), but I will be a law nerd now. Every chapter left me at “Oh shit…” A really funny, compassionate, no-shit approach to all these dumb laws left me simultaneously in despair and with a hint, a whisper of hope.

I keep coming back to this first page. Why did Morrison use ‘his’ in this sentence? It’s preceded by women and children, and is followed by the women as those left in the house. Beloved isn’t our only ghost in this story - #BelovedFebruary
