When I was a kid, at my grUncle's farm, he had a mule he plowed his garden with, that I'd just get on, and we'd wander around the farm, no saddle/bridle, just say gee/haw/stop and go. We usually ended up in the orchard, so I could stand on his back and reach the apples, and we'd share them.
