last week my mom told me that she remembered final fantasy from “back in… 1997?” and recalled the sephiroth shot last month she also told me she heard about metal gear solid a while back and it’s funny bc it just gives me a real sense of time and place since it’s a bit surprising coming from her

pixel perfection looks nice in a lot of cases but I think a lot of the time ppl already have their mind made up because it’s so easy to Point Out that they don’t consider weighing the benefits or asking if it’s really an issue, and this extends to a lot of “inauthentic” effects like you say

people reaaally discount the benefits of non-pixel perfect resolution too for things like UI design and camera. for instance if your game has a metroid/sotn map screen, adherence to pixel perfection makes it way less flexible and navigable cuz you can’t rly take advantage of zooming

these are cute!! I’m not quite sure what you mean by inspiration exactly… I wouldn’t see it as needing permission, but if inspiration shows in some stuff you’ll make it’d be cool if you let me know! I would just ask you do more than replicate, just for your own sake, cuz your style is cool!!
