yeah then again, the series is great as rereading material, and it seems the story almost reach its true beginning once Azuma and/or Tokio become an X

⛓️🔥 @dedshadowcrtr.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

I REALLY want to recommend Choujin X to my other moots but it’s kinda still premature and the REAL story has yet to begin even with 60 VERY LONG chapters (11 volumes) in at the same time the series is painfully underrated and I just wanna talk about it with someone

tryign to figure out how to draw this freak i liek accentuating his Strange & Offputting gangliness. odie drawing little freaks even freakier than they are normally Fork Spotted In Kitchen #dandadan

two drawings of transformed okarun. the rightmost drawing has been coloured with reddish-pink, grey and dark pink and shows him without his jaw, bearing a vacant, almost apathetic expression as he cranes his neck to look over his shoulder. he has been drawn with an exaggerated gangliness to his limbs and body from his head down, more than he has normally.
the leftmost drawing shows him with these elongated, unnatural features again, this time hunched over and tense, with his jaw covering his face. his hands are tensed, showing his elongated claws. this drawing has not been coloured.

a less detailed drawing of transformed okarun, again without the jaw. his head is cocked to the side loosely and he is wearing the same vacant expression as in the last drawing. he again bears an unnatural and awkward gangliness from his head down, and brackets next to him show this, with one extending from the top of his head to his chin reading "hi okarun :)" and the one from his neck downward reading "ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" with the text cut off by the cropping of the image.

I smell daddy issues from all the way here

⛓️🔥 @dedshadowcrtr.bsky.social · 14/12/2024

Maybe because he has a very strict dad, because of that strictness it seems that his dad view friends as obstacles having not getting the attention from his dad lead Azuma to grow an obsession with success and perfection, and the wheel chair seems to symbolize a disability stem from that obsession

Chapter 58.3 implies that though Tokio and Azuma are friend, they never hang out at Azuma’s house (at the very least while Tokio talk about Azuma a lot with his family, it appears that Azuma never get the chance, or perhaps, doesn’t want his family to know that he has a friend for some reasons

IDK maybe maybe Ishida plan to make Azuma the actual protagonist and make him an X and but the story is leading in Tokio's view Just like JTTW where we mostly see Wukong on screen but the real protagonist is actually Tripitaka

Azuma might become an X because the starting of this arc said "X day", and it's his birthday, end he also said X in one of the promotional art, or the introduction of what an X is is play after Azuma become a choujin But I'm not sure

On second thought, there're other theories I think Azuma manage to send his current team out alive in later chapter, while Ely and Tokio got stuck in the tower OR Azume head to the next floor first while the other two got stuck there

Another detail he uses his left hand to point the direction In his lesson with his dad, the rail on the left side means dead end This series has so many metaphors I love it

I do respect Black Myth Wukong even though I never watch any gameplay But games are supposed to be FUN to play, Astro Bot deserves it because it nailed that point, even more so, all ages can enjoy it

If I have to compare him with another character, he’s more Nine Sols Yi coded They’re their own character and have feelings, but is both blinded by rationality and couldn’t live a life for themselves because of that

⛓️🔥 @dedshadowcrtr.bsky.social · 13/12/2024

“He’s Griffith coded” NO HE’S NOT He’s not the mastermind of any scheme, he’s not a cold hearted killer, he doesn’t trample on anyone He’s aspired to be on justice side He only stick with Tokio to boost his ego and when Tokio leaves, he still train himself even if his inferiority complex still stuck

He’s strong, he’s smart, he’s competent but he lacks self-control, he can be a powerhouse, but not a leader

Hyenas live in savanna, where there’s no ocean to see It asked him to tell it where the ocean is because it was thirsty and thought that ocean is just a huge fresh water lake Rather than ask it further to understands the full situation, he point where the ocean is, leading to its death from thirst

⛓️🔥 @dedshadowcrtr.bsky.social · 13/12/2024

Azuma is only a deuteragonist but his journey of confronting failure hits me The scene where he give the hyena direction to the ocean show his lack of understanding the full situation and him being the leader is what causes death of those who follows him
