Think this was from an early draft. It’s real. Really wanted I’m On Fire in there. Verrrrry $$$ song tho and S2 budget was tight. Also have no idea how that bulging parenthetical got in there, hate those 😅🫠 Love that this is out there enjoy 💜

In case it wasn’t already obvious, Our Flag wouldn’t exist without Butch Cassidy, The Princess Bride, or Midnight Cowboy. 2 out of 3 of these were written by William Goldman (who also wrote an unproduced screenplay about Stede and Blackbeard for Roger Moore and Sean Connery to star).

Look at this outrageous Anton Anderson slander I found at the library. If it doesn’t feature a vampire boyfriend I might sue. #vianton

A photo of the book I found at the library called ‘Bored Gay Werewolf’. It’s resting on my lap and I’m holding a cuppa tea.

Bits of process for fun...Flat colours, texture work-in and multiply layers added to the characters and van, post-pro added (this is the version I posted to tumblr like a year ago) + todays tweaks (mainly a patch layer sitting under the post pro)

My college education is in animation. To raise a glass in honor of @ourflagmeansjeff.bsky.social's birthday, here's 2022-me putting that degree to use in the aforementioned 'bj frames'. 🧡🏴‍☠️ #OurFlagMeansDeath #ofmd

Very loose sketches of Ed and Stede removing each other's clothes before Ed makes his boyfriend blush.

Stuck in a bit of a bad brain loop so I'm trying to combat it with my favorites of them, my pirates, my safe space ship. #ofmd #OurFlagMeansDeath

Drawing of Ed and Stede from Our Flag Means Death. Stede is a merman and is leaning over Ed, touching his nose to Ed's and smiling. Ed is dressed in his purple tee and leathers. He's holding one hand under Stede's jaw and smiling. Ed is sitting on rocks in shallow water. Stede is lifting himself out of the deeper water around the rocks, flipping his tail. He's flirting.

Drawing of Ed and Stede from Our Flag Means Death. Ed is holding Stede with both arms around Stede's neck and back. Stede is craddling Ed with one arm around the back of his shoulder. Ed's lips are resting against Stede's forehead. Ed's hair is down and curtained around the back of Stede's head. Their eyes are closed. They're both calm, content.

Drawing of Ed and Stede from Our Flag Means Death. Ed is aggressively throwing himself into Stede with a hug from behind. Stede is visibly jostled, but he's laughing and smiling and holding Ed's wrapped arm and hand. They're both wearing robes. Ed is in a blue one with light blue and pink lining. Stede is wearing a gold one with light heart-shaped patterns around the sleeves and collar and pink lining. Ed is kissing Stede's cheek.

Drawing of Ed and Stede from Our Flag Means Death. Ed is wearing his timeout sack and collar. Stede is wearing the red cursed suit frilly shirt. Stede is clutching Ed's waist while Ed cups Stede's face. They're heatedly kissing in moonlight, not taking it quite as slow as they did in the show.

I have so many that have flowers in them omg. I just always want to surround them in that softness. Here's a few of my favorites for day 3 of #OurFlagThinksSpring! #ofmd #OurFlagMeansDeath

Drawing of Ed and Stede from Our Flag Means Death. Ed is holding Stede's cheek while there's barely any air between their lips. Ed is wearing a frilled cuffed shirt. There's purple, white, and pink flowers in both of their hair.

Drawing of Ed and Stede from Our Flag Means Death. They're young, sitting in a field of bower vine flowers, surrounded by their white and pink petals. They're facing each other. They're holding a bouquet of flowers between them. It's deliberately unclear who is gifting who

Drawing of young Stede from Our Flag Means Death. He's lying on his stomach, his arms hanging into water below him. He's holding a small wooden ship with a pink and white flower on its deck. He's surrounded by the same flowers growing on vines. He's wearing a pink-rust suit and frills and a tricorn hat. He looks determined and a little sad.

Drawing of Ed from Our Flag Means Death. He's snuggled under a blanket and sinking into plush pillows. His face is half hidden and his big brown eyes are on full display. There's tiny leaves and flowers growing in his hair and beard.
