This is my geriatric, ornery, stubborn baby Brie colonizing my mother post-back-surgery. Cheddar died the same day Mom got home from the hospital, 😅, so Brie has been glad to have someone to cuddle 24/7.

My geriatric kitty Brie, a short haired gray cat, loafing on top of my mom in bed. My mom is looking at her phone and has a smiling with hearts emoji over her face. Brie has resting bitch face and is glaring into space in a truly hilarious way.

I grew up with three shelter cats and now am down to one. She’s creeping up on 20 but her brother died two weeks ago so she’s aged about a decade in a fortnight. I’m probably not going to have more cats for a long time but I would not trade my shelter babies and our years together for the world.

The good old days, when all three cats were alive. They’re lined up in a row facing the camera: Brie is in the front, standing and staring at the camera. She is a beautiful solid gray shorthair with an adorable white throat patch and striking green eyes. Cheddar is curled up behind her. He is a Lorge orange short haired tabby who looks like he just got woken up from the fattest nap of his life. Behind him, Rosemary is curled up fast asleep. She is a teeny tiny long haired tabby colored brown and gray. Her ear fluff is legendary.
