Fabulous week on holiday in Anglesey. Sea swimming at Newborough, lots (and lots) of walking, good food at The Oyster Catcher at Rhosneigr. Will definitely be going back.

Today’s poem is called ‘Bags’.
Bags

you have bags
of bags

collecting bags
must be your bag

because you have bags
with nothing in them
except bags,
inside of which are other bags,
full of bags

you have enough bags for life
for a hundred lifetimes –
if there was a prize for the total number of tote bags
you would totes have it
in the bag

don’t know why you need so many bags
when all you ever put in them
are other bags

Appreciating the little things on my nature walk in the rain today. I love watching the seasons change, like turning the page in a book, anticipating the wonders of Autumn to come. 🍂🍁

For Alan and Rick Ford, who worked, knew and loved these lanes and this land more than I ever will. Somewhere, under a beautiful tree on Back Lane, is my tribute. Sending love to the Ford family and the farming community.

Hello fellow #TreeLovers! 🌳❤️. So did you know that "Komorebi" (木漏れ日) translates roughly to sunlight filtering through the leaves of #trees, describing the dappled, shifting patterns of light & shadow cast on the ground, as the sun shines through a canopy of branches. Share your favourite photos!

Daisies in the lawn. I always try to leave the daisy patches unmown. Such pretty little flowers, and sweetly reminiscent of carefree days making daisy chains as a child.

‘Come with me into the woods where spring is advancing, as it does, no matter what, not being singular or particular, but one of the forever gifts, and certainly visible.’ —Mary Oliver
In this photo, we see beams of sunshine streaming through a lush and blooming forest in mid spring. Tall, ancient trees rise to the sky, and bright light green leaves bloom and bud from the branches… below, on the fourth floor, bluebells, lilacs and other springtime flowers have gained their full flowering.. there is no pathway through the forest, but the photo is so inviting that one feels a welcoming sense of broaching the forest, as if you could step through the photograph.

Today’s poem is called ‘On Tender Hooks’.
On Tender Hooks

Let me cut to the cheese:
every time you open your mouth,
I’m on tender hooks.

You charge at the English language
like a bowl in a china shop.
I wish you’d nip it in the butt.

On the spurt of the moment,
another eggcorn tumbles out.
It’s time you gave up the goat.

Curve your enthusiasm
and don’t give them free range –
the chickens will come home to roast.

Sorry to be the flaw
in your ointment. You must think me
a damp squid, I suppose –

but they spread like wildflowers
in a doggy-dog world,
and your spear of influence grows.

Today's woodland wanderings produced a treasure trove of Spring magical happenings. New leaves, bluebells, wood anemones, blossom and daffodils - and sunshine. The kind of day you want to bottle, ready to uncork in deepest, dreariest winter.

maybe we can all live here instead?
A magical large & ancient oak tree is also a fully furnished home (with glowing lit windows & a porch & steps) & its trunk is covered with moss, toadstools, & flowers in early spring -flowers pink & trees bloom around the old tree… & in the distance an older figure walks in silhouette into the distance…there’s a soft mist on this spring late dusk/early morning

Sweet & magical dreams to you all…good night all you kind ones ♥️ (art Joe Gilronan)
in a night scene with lush shades of purples, light purples greens, and golds, a dark orange brown fox gazes up at the night sky, watching shooting stars and stars alight the sky in the centre mid ground -and on the left, slightly in the distance, is a lit cottage with the upper story window lit with smoke coming out of the chimney. The sense of magic is pervasive as lights of enchantment seem to surround the fox and atmosphere
