I have heard of Whatnot but have not tried it - and wondered if there were any stamps or craft materials available. All I typically see are collectible figures and cards (lots and lots of cards!)

Librarian here. I always thought about writing a murder mystery called MARC-ed for Death - where the disgruntled cataloger (who was allergic to cats - this was an important part of the story) started taking out reference librarians (and a provost, just for fun).

Local #news tells the story of our communities, but much of today's journalism exists digitally and is at risk of being lost. NYU Libraries and Portico are launching a new project, with support from the Mellon Foundation, to help preserve born-digital local news. Learn more: bit.ly/4fJavUa

Local journalism documents the lives of communities in ways few other sources can. Helping ensure those stories remain accessible for decades to come is work that matters." I love that moment of anticipation, when all the floss is new (and untangled), the fabric prepped, and the potential of a new project hovers…of course, all of this is before I encounter my nemesis (aka French knots.)

Sigh…as the local librarian who is also a philatelist…and gets all the stamp related questions…the short answer is no. Sure, there might be a hidden gem in that stamp collection…there might also be a Picasso under that painting of dogs playing poker. But the odds, they are not in your favor.
