Taking OCs out of the established IP they came from and starting from scratch is a lot of work, world building can get overwhelming. I made up a name for my story’s planet and just named stuff differently until other media inspirations came and influenced the barely-legally-distinct foundation.
![An illustration of Ana[standing] and Rex[crouched]. Ana stands with a handgun in her hands, she looks focused as she points the weapon at someone out of frame. She wears a pantsuit and heels, her hair is brushed back and braided.
Rex crouches behind Ana, his right arm is wrapped around her left leg. He covers his ears as he anticipates her discharging the pistol. He wears a plain t-shirt, jeans, leather gloves, and riding boots. His hair is slicked back and his beard is cut down to a heavy 5 o’clock shadow.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:imgxmgobgs2mqyxi54yhll4r/bafkreid34j653bwajqbzw5drpqmwhchsjvobnwgteyd5rjnafoaqaeod2u)
![An illustration or Zoh[left], Zeteg[center], and Zytila [right]. The trio have been depicted as chibi characters, with big heads and eyes, and smaller bodies.
Zoh wears a park ranger outfit with gloves and boots, her pant legs and sleeves are rolled up. She is surprised to see she is even smaller relative to her already short 5’ stature.
Zeteg wears a prison guard uniform with shorts and boots. Their hands rest on their hips as they give a big smile.
Zytila wears an office outfit consisting of a blouse, skirt, and heels. She looks at her watch, unimpressed with the trio’s new adorable disposition. She would prefer to go back to work and finish her shift on time.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:imgxmgobgs2mqyxi54yhll4r/bafkreifldaylvrpjobcm63yzlbzpyd5kdwm4lulhb666b72klqwneql45m)
