Construction is underway on the new border wall and road cutting through Big Bend National Park. Heavy machinery has arrived to the landscape, where crews have been clearing native vegetation near Santa Elena Canyon as part of a $1.7 billion contract. The Trump administration waived several environmental laws, like the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and NEPA in order to move the project forward.
