Volume two features a deep dive into sewer-crawling skirmish game Ratking. Get the mag for $5 or free, it's the same PDF: deathplastic.itch.io

"The experience of teaching people the rules to a game you made is excruciating. God awful. You know how bad it is to teach friends the rules of a boardgame and have to say ‘I promise this is fun’ every few sentences? It’s that, times a thousand. So a lot of that layering is the result of asking myself ‘what rules do I need to teach a new player for them to have fun?’"

Maude Bogbody (she/her),

Hi there - I'm gathering people's thoughts on John Blanche. I'd love to hear from you.

I AM WORKING ON A FEATURE ABOUT HIS WORK AND CAREER FOR VOL 2. OF DEATH PLASTIC. I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO PUT OTHER PEOPLE’S THOUGHTS ON JOHN NEXT TO MY OWN.

SUBMIT 2-3 SENTENCES (VIA DM) ABOUT JOHN’S IMPACT ON YOU PERSONALLY, WHETHER YOU’RE AN ARTIST, DESIGNER, WRITER, OR JUST A FAN.

PLEASE ALSO GIVE ME A NAME (ANON IS ALSO FINE) ALONG WITH YOUR PREFERRED PRONOUNS, AND A DESCRIPTION OF THE LENS HIS WORK IMPACTED YOU THROUGH - FAN, ARTIST, ETC.

I CANNOT GUARANTEE I CAN FIT EVERYONE IN, BUT JOHN’S LEGACY IS IN ALL OF US.

The design deep dive on Snak28 is done and it's a great look into the mindset behind creating something accessible, fun, cute, and self-empowering. Volume one of DEATH PLASTIC comes out this quarter.

"I'm not saying kill your darlings - but some darlings ‘are’ more important than others."

- 5R, on Snak28 and game design focus

Just to be clear.

STATEMENT OF VALUES

DEATH PLASTIC IS AN INCLUSIVE, PROGRESSIVE VIEW OF THE MINIATURE HOBBY SCENE. THERE IS ZERO TOLERANCE IN THIS PUBLICATION OR ITS COMMUNITY FOR HATE. THIS ISN’T LIKE THE GAMES WORKSHOP ONE WHERE THEY SAY IT WHILE MARKETING FASCIST STORMTROOPERS TO KIDS AS HEROIC FIGURES, I ACTUALLY FUCKING MEAN IT.

DEATH PLASTIC STANDS WITH THE MARGINALIZED AND THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE. IF YOU’RE A FUCKING NAZI CHUD, YOU’LL BE SHOWN THE GODDAMN DOOR.

CHEERS.
