Well...he seems to cycle through his threats and rhetoric. One week it's Canada, then Greenland, then Iran, throw Cuba in once in a while. He must have forgotten to update his schedule

Just another reason to not go. For a country that is bleeding tourism spending, this is a sure fire way to turn things around 😀

So not only did he jump the gun, it's unlikely it will happen due to something taking place in Canada. Love it.

Take the plant in the interest of national security. Also, I' assume the employment requirements would be in some sort of written agreement (not just verbal) so I'm sure there are some legal avenues available here

Sounds like the targeted tariffs Canada has imposed is making the regime nervous

A lot of it is the type of steel. Stelco Hamilton only finishes limited types of steel (cold rolled and coated) along with coke. These types of steel wouldn't be of much use in the projects. Lake Erie makes other types, which is why there are no layoffs there

They agreed to maintain unionized employment levels until 2029 when they bought Stelco in 2024. Seems like a violation of that agreement. Seems like a contract violation to me...maybe the assets need to be seized until this is sorted out

They dolljust don't get it. Like many 'mericans, they think throwing money (or discounts) at the problem will make it go away. This is not about money. We are not suddenly going to go visit a country whose "leader " threatens us on a regular basis. And once he is gone, I for one, will not forget

Because he's not allowed to speak at the 9/11 memorial. He can't go a day without being the center of attention. He's also hoping to distract from the Epstein Files, the war he's losing in Iran, the tarrif war he just started which will make things even MORE expensive etc

If he does that, maybe a 100% export levy would be in order on the energy we send south. Oil might be a no go, but I'm surr Ontario and Quebec could be persuaded to jack up the price of exported electricity

PM Carney says Canada was willing to: 🇨🇦 Drop remaining retaliatory tariffs if the U.S. lowered tariffs on Canadian steel, aluminum & autos. 🇺🇸 U.S. alcohol could return to provincial shelves But two things are NOT negotiable: Canada’s sovereignty and our key industries. 🇨🇦 🎥 Credit CPAC Live via 𝕏

Exactly. Also, this deal apparently allows U.S. companies to bid on provincial contracts. Let them bid. Doesn't mean they have to be selected. Let them waste time and effort preparing a bod, only to lose out every time.

On this day in 1930, the first British Empire Games (now known as the Commonwealth Games) opened in Hamilton, Ontario. Over 400 athletes from 11 nations competed in 59 events. Canada finished second to England with 54 medals, including 20 gold.
Crowd-packed stadium with permanent stands and temporary bleachers full of spectators watching a sporting event on an oval field; a few players or officials stand near the field edge and rows of nearby houses are visible beyond the venue.

Is he really that dumb? Canada has no ban on US alcohol. The individual provinces run their respective liquor stores. The provinces have decided not to carry US spirits, just as any business can decide what to stock. And insults are not going to help
