I’ll trade you. Over 100F today, not cooling off at night because of unusually high humidity. Our fire season is just on the verge, we have probably 2-1/2 months to go before we can relax. I need an underground complex to retreat to!

This! It’s often they don’t actually move to the “tripped” position, so I recommend flipping every single one off and then back on. Or sometimes, just a little pressure in the off direction will cause it to pop over to tripped, and bob’s yer uncle!

So it stays strong enough that the building stands longer in a fire, and there is more time for people to get out and crews to extinguish it before a collapse. A steel building is not a good place to be if there is a fire at all!

It’s not likely that the “fire will stop”, mostly because of the contents that are burning. However, wood is actually a very good fire resistant building material because it doesn’t lose its strength immediately when it gets hot, like steel does.
