Not really. Think of the text output that will use 'colour', but the code will use 'color'.

Is this the woman that inspired the nursery rhyme 'She sells seashells by the seashore'?

NEW: Our investigation for @thenerve_news reveals not only that Peter Thiel’s Palantir is completely enmeshed in our critical national infrastructure. It’s also the ‘cloud support’ for our nuclear weapons system 🤯 1/ www.thenerve.news/p/palantir-t...

Had a similar problem. I chucked away all the cheap USB C cables, and problem went away.

For double images, do you mean film swaps?

They're lavalieres, which are clip on mics. You get handling noise if you hold them, but they haven't worked that out, yet.

Finding Vivian Maier is a documentary that uncovers the mysterious life of Vivian Maier, a reclusive nanny whose extraordinary street photography was discovered only after her death.

Beautiful print. Why are you not cropping the paper square before printing? You're loosing some free test strip paper, there

I've been looking for another dev timer. Can you have an agitation alarm on it?

Glitch was originally an unwanted spike on a digital line. The meaning has drifted a bit. It has become a bit of a catch all excuse.

And that's before you list the sports bits.

My mission to improve my darkroom printing is starting to get results. Here's a pic of the cave in Cademan Woods, Leicestershire.

A black and white darkroom print of some woods. The Ballance of light and dark areas feels natural, and there are interesting details of fauna and rocks.

Went to the garage, today, with a rattly exhaust (the car, not me). They fixed it. How much? "Ah, it was simple, no charge for that." Yaaaa, thank you David Lowe Garage of Loughborough.

If you’ve seen Romeo and Juliet, you likely can summarize the plot in a single sentence that appears nowhere in the play. A new physics-inspired theory aims to explain our story-recalling ability by modeling the memory of a story as a hierarchical tree.

How We Remember Stories

The memory of a story appears to have a tree-like structure, with abstract summaries branching out into more specific details.

Did it really hit -0.4C locally, today? I live in Charnwood, and would be interested where the temp sensor was, for this.

Today's watergram/luminogram. Getting funky with the designs. #luminogram #cameralessphotography #ilfordpaper

A printed picture of an abstract design with a circle with lines emanating, in a curved oblong, surrounded by an image of water.

Another mixed watergram and luminogram created in the darkroom, yesterday.

Walked to the pub through the woods, aiming to return while still light. Failed. Woods by moonlight are fantastic. Pros: See the familiar woods in a whole new way. Cons: Trip up a lot. May be abducted by fairies.

Today's watergram/luminogram. Finally looking like I planned.

I was photographing dance at a school this week. Although exhausting, it was also uplifting. The teachers had endless patients, and you could see how much the kids got out of it, learning teamwork, problem solving, and using their imagination. I felt privileged to document it.

David Wilson Clarke @ddwwcc.bsky.social · 13/02/2025

More mixed watergram and luminograms. Using a curved mask, so there is a bit of both in the middle. Using a wet mask damaged this one, and it's tricky getting both sides a similar density. Trial and error. Make lots, as usual.

David Wilson Clarke @ddwwcc.bsky.social · 02/02/2025

Currently, on Google Maps, the aerial view of my area was photographed while covered in snow. It's a joy to look round it, and some of it has late afternoon long shadows, too.

I'm rubbish at writing sentences and paragraphs, but I like words. Some favorites are susserus, shivelight, liminality. What do others like?

Today's discovery: The quibble. In computing, a byte is (usually) 8 bits. 4 bits is referred to as a nibble. A collection of four nibbles, is a quad-nibble, or, a quibble.
