Lots of good advice here. I have found ChatGPT gives good advice when I have to switch to terminal for some updates. Very complex compared with my usual Mac OS updates and installs (gave up Windows years ago). Love Ubuntu but would never wish it on a non-tech person without (expensive) tech support.

My wife recently thought her passport was lost and was in the process of re-applying ($165+), all the while dreading she might get a new passport with the Felon In Chief's face on it, and dreading having to show that felon's face when traveling internationally. One alternative is that, if you take a lot of pictures of family events (as I do) in years to come you may find there are very few pictures of you compared with pictures of the rest of the family. My dad took many pictures of us when kids but we have very few pictures of him.
