On July 22, 2026, the House adopted the Burlison UAP/UFO amendment to H.R. 8800 (NDAA) as part of a large en bloc amendment package, without any floor debate or a separate vote. On 6-29-26 Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO) sought approval from the House Rules Committee to offer a version of the "UAP Disclosure Act" as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA, H.R. 8800), but his proposal was not on the list of 312 amendments later made in order by the committee.
