It's so rare that you get that actor who gets their second surge so late in their career, and yet, Lin Shaye is out there being a great in horror! Such an inspiration!

Film #394 / Day 15.4:The Monster Club My #FilmChallenge2026 pick for October (A Horror Musical). It's a weird bag. It's an anthology film with Vincent Price and musical numbers in between. Middle segment is the low point, first segment is the best, last is more Tales from the Crypt. #31DaysOfHorror

Film #392 / Day 15.2: Carrie As far as backdoor pilot movies go, it's pretty average. It has a few good performances but it also feels like a lot of it could have been trimmed and you'd have a better film. The bones really needed a little more work. #31DaysOfHorror

Film #391 / Day 15.1: Ghost Light More creepy than scary. It's a horror comedy about a theater troupe putting on the Scottish Play. Carol Kane and most of the actors are a hoot. The mystery starts wearing thin as the film goes on but, overall, more to recommend than to discourage. #31DaysOfHorror

Film #390 / Day 14.2: Murders in the Rue Morgue It's not bad but it certainly isn't great. Average at best. Bela Lugosi does the best he can but most of the film is just dreadful or people acting like the guy in the obvious ape costume is a threat. #31DaysOfHorror
