iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

This admin has consistently broken the law in a way that cuts to the core principles in the constitution, and so far congress has just sat back and watched. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction.

I really enjoyed several of those books. Octavia Butler was far ahead of her time.

I forgot the pinboard guy existed ever since he went hard at fundraising for getting dems elected in very red state level elections around 2018ish. It didn’t pan out and he seemed pretty frustrated about it all.

I know NYC has unique issues, but I am committed to sending my kids to public school. Where I grew up private schools only existed for people who didn’t want to send their kids to school with black people. Real subtle names too, like Jefferson Davis Academy.

NASA released a bunch of 16 and 35mm film engineering footage of the Artemis II launch today. Naturally I knew what I had to do with it.

They can take our public transportation and healthcare, but they can never take our exclusionary, detached single-family home zoning and full sized trucks!

“20,000 acres.” Do you know how many acres are currently dedicated to corn for ethanol???

Rhinegeist is the coolest. Their taproom and rooftop was one of my favorite discoveries when I visited Cincy last year.

Oof, I hadn’t run across that one till today. Somehow it is better and worse than those who walk away.

I'm just imagining Coach J doing her "Is she gay or just _____" bit. Yeah, she's giving off big gay vibes (laudatory).

Shroud was fun with how you got the perspective from both sides looking at each other as inscrutable beings.

Pretty good description of Alien Clay and Shroud also. Future person meets unassuming place with as yet undiscovered capabilities. To be sure, I enjoyed them both.

FARA has to have teeth. If you're being funded by foreign $ to influence the US, we should know and if you don't disclose it then there should be serious consequences.

The players are the best. bsky.app/profile/cjze...

The broadcast has been hilarious with the players dancing and drying the floor. They don’t even take a commercial break for most all of it! Glad that got it back on track now though.

Reading your blocklist section a while back brought me great joy. It is some grade A hating. A monument of spite!

I’m so old I remember when conservatives were indeed quite vocal about saying children should not have babies.

Olivia Rodrigo did the same thing with "Good 4 U" similarity to Paramore's "Misery Business". Both of those are excellent songs, I might add.

I would watch a tour of the LL Bean factory or Bath Iron Works. Or the Maine Maritime Academy. Or sit a camera on top of a train and give me 2 hours of slow tv riding through the countryside in the fall.

I had the same experience in the Badlands in May with my 8 year olds. They’re normally down for some good hiking, but it’s just 100% exposed with no shade for miles. We definitely cut it short!

Turns out people lost track that virtue signaling is a good thing and we should want orgs and rich people to do it.

I wish. Debbie Powell can definitely win district 2, I dunno if Backenmeyer can pull off the victory over Flood. If that happens though we’re in a world where anything is possible! Even an Osborn victory, but I’m not gonna hold my breath on that one.

I never get tired of hearing about hilarious logistics mistakes, like the time an Army maintenance NCO mistakenly ordered and received a giant Navy ship anchor by mistake. I thought this was just a legend when an AIT instructor told out class in 2006. taskandpurpose.com/news/army-cl...

taskandpurpose.com

That time an Army supply clerk accidentally ordered a $28,000 anchor at Fort Carson

In 1985, an Army clerk at Fort Carson meant to order a $6 lamp. Instead, he accidentally ordered an anchor that cost over $28,000.

Nebraska has public power and it’s fantastic. Rates are among the lowest nationally, the service is very good. Among my biggest complaints is that my bill is so cheap I can’t make the numbers work to get solar panels.

There isn't a market value calculation made. Its value on paper is what you paid for it, minus depreciation calculated from a table, plus any major recapitalization costs (ie: the wings on an airframe were replaced, not like repainting or other maintenance).

Not that anything matters anymore, but Oman hosts U.S. forces including USAF air wings alongside allowing us access to naval support facilities at Duqm. Great coalition building Mr. President! Very reassuring to our security partners!

You should see if there is a code exception for pollinator gardens, wildflowers, or native plants and just let it grow like that so you aren't having to trim it so much.

People wouldn’t believe what it costs for a single brigade CTC rotation at somewhere like NTC. Just the cost to get the people, trucks, equipment etc there would make you blush.
